Something I don't see much anymore and I don't miss:
The toothpick in the side of the mouth thing.
Who first came up with that?
Who decided that it looked tough, instead of like a rather ridiculous choking hazard?
My only guess is that the only people who thought it made them look tough all choked to death on their toothpicks, and that's why you don't see the habit anymore...
