Aristus's JournalAny anti-Obama Democrats still out there?
Still upset that President Obama didn't take the whole country out for ice cream?
Wake up and look around, will you?
President Obama is the leader we should have had twenty years ago. Bill Clinton (whom I still admire greatly), but without the messy personal issues. A leader with amazing grace.
In honor of President Obama singing 'Amazing Grace', I offer another breathtakingly beautiful
version.
Ladysmith Black Mombazo. It's a mashup with "Nearer My God To Thee" in the middle...
Like most of their music, it is unspeakably lovely..

What's everybody drinking tonight?
Having some pizza and drinking with Will Shakespeare. Ask us anything.
I gave will a nice imported Scottish ginger beer to try.
"Nice, that, lad. Sweet and yet tart. Like a gingery slap o' th'tongue".
Could someone help me pick a variety?
I'm thinking about trying pot again for the first time in about twenty years. I'll have an evening to myself, and I have work the next day. I'm looking for a fairly strong, pleasant high that won't affect me too badly the next day. I'm looking for an edible or drinkable strain. I don't smoke.
I live in Washington State where it is legal and over-the-counter. I expect the person behind the counter will be knowledgeable and helpful. But I'd like some pointers going in...
Anyone?
I found a fun way to shave and support local businesses at the same time: artisanal shaving soap.
I got a disc of shaving soap as a gift, even though I haven't used shaving soap in over twenty years. I dug out my old shaving mug and starting doing an old-fashioned brush-and-razor shave on the weekends and otherwise when I have time. (During the week, I only have time for a cream-shave before work.
Well, that gift soap started running out, so I found the local place that makes it and ordered a bunch more. They are local, family-owned, and make their soap from all-organic ingredients.
It smells great, and makes a prosaic task like shaving fun.
