Steve Bullock Is Poised to Run for Senate in Montana, Officials Say

Source: New York Times

Gov. Steve Bullock of Montana is poised to reverse himself and run for the Senate, according to three Democratic officials, a decision that would hand the party a coveted recruit who could help reclaim a majority in the chamber.

After months of insisting he would not challenge Senator Steve Daines, Mr. Bullock, who ran for president last year, has told Democrats in the last week he is now inclined to run in what would immediately become one of the marquee Senate races of 2020. Mr. Bullock has only a few days to finalize his decision: the filing deadline to run in Montana is Monday.

Italy to close schools for 10 days due to coronavirus

Source: The Hill

Schools in Italy will close through March 15 to address the country’s coronavirus outbreak, the worst in Europe, Education Minister Lucia Azzolina announced Wednesday.

"I hope pupils can return to school as soon as possible,” Azzolina said.

The nation’s death toll from the virus has reached 107, with 28 deaths in the past 24 hours, NBC reported, citing the country’s Civil Protection Agency. In all, 3,090 cases have been confirmed in Italy.

The majority of cases in Italy have been concentrated in its northern regions, with 1,520 cases in Lombardy, 307 in Veneto and 520 in Emilia-Romagna. As of Wednesday, Valle D’Aosta is the only one of Italy's 20 regions that had not recorded a case, CNBC reported.

Warren reassessing campaign after disappointing Super Tuesday

The Hill

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is taking a day to assess whether she still has a path to the Democratic nomination after a disappointing Super Tuesday in which she failed to net a substantial delegate haul.

Warren flew home to Boston late Tuesday, after a Detroit rally. She has no public events scheduled for the day. A senior campaign official told The Hill she would meet with staff to gauge her remaining chances.

"Elizabeth is talking to her team to assess the path forward," the campaign aide said.

We are effectively down to a two person race...

Can I assume that Sanders supporters believe that his support will now shoot up since his 2016 support is no longer divided between lots of candidates (their go-to argument to explain his lower numbers this year)?

Last night, Sanders lost by not winning and Biden won by...winning

Expectations is a big thing. Winning is a bigger one.
