So the president decided to punch it.
For the past two weeks, Biden and his allies have publicly escalated a war of words and with DeSantis on Twitter, in speeches by the president and in White House press briefings. Biden advisers see DeSantis — who has defiantly fought mask mandates as infections and hospitalizations skyrocketed in the battleground state — as a foil to a president whose strength is his empathetic style and safety-first response to coronavirus that helped him defeat DeSantis’ benefactor, President Trump, nine months ago.
Amid the Covid explosion, DeSantis’ constant criticisms as well as his controversial policies and a barrage of media questions about the governor, White House advisers say Biden and the team had no choice but to take on the Republican. But the president has seldom gone to such lengths to train so much fire on a critic other than Trump.

Putting supposed server images up on screen and letting a clown like Ron talk about them is so laughably far away from admissible evidence in court.
Mike is and has been getting taken for a ride by con artists who are fabricating data and making up stories about it. The FBI is going to burn him if anyone ever gets close to blowing open the fraud for real and use this entire con to discredit all election investigations.

House Dem moderates lay out battle lines as Pelosi stands firm

The California Democrat reiterated in no uncertain terms during a call with members that she would only bring the Senate's bipartisan infrastructure deal to the floor after the upper chamber finishes the party's $3.5 trillion social spending package. Her approach shrugs off a growing pressure campaign from moderates, who are urging Pelosi to take up the Senate infrastructure bill more quickly so that they can sell it to voters back home.

Those remarks -- delivered in the caucus' first gathering since the Senate passed its infrastructure bill -- boosted the confidence of progressives, who have long insisted that Pelosi would keep her vow to hold onto the Senate's bipartisan bill in order to force the completion of a broader party-line bill. But Pelosi's timetable hasn't assuaged a small group of frustrated Democratic moderates who are plotting ways to convince her and her team to change course.
At least six of those centrists say privately they are willing to block consideration of the Democrats' budget blueprint as a last-ditch move to stall the $3.5 trillion bill, according to two people familiar with the discussions. None of those Democrats would speak publicly about their plans, though they argue their influence is only growing with their party five seats away from losing the House.

The big picture: The intense heat wave continues to roast the Mediterranean and northern Africa. The hot and dry weather has played a large role in creating the conditions conducive for explosive and devastating wildfires in Turkey and Greece.
Details: Numerous monthly and national temperature records have fallen during the heat wave, including in Greece, Turkey and Tunisia, but if verified through an examination of the weather instruments, the Sicily observation would be the most noteworthy. The previous continental heat record was 48°C (118.4°F), set in Greece in 1977.
For the record to be considered, a committee from the World Meteorological Organization would need to investigate the instrumentation and circumstances of the data, including whether similar temperatures were observed nearby.

With tenants who won't pay or leave, small landlords face struggles of their own
Washington PostThings didn’t go as planned. Collins, 61, said one of her tenants has largely abandoned Collins’s condo for another home and purchased a new automobile but refuses to either pay rent or leave Collins’s property, even changing the locks so Collins could not access it.
Collins has attempted to evict the tenant but said she has so far been unsuccessful. She is back waiting tables now but said she is trying to sell two of the condos.
“My stomach just starts just churning talking about it. I’m nervous, I’m like a deer in the headlights,” she said. “I am in over my head and I just want to be done with it.”

Nurse in Germany suspected of swapping COVID vaccine with saline solution
AxiosWhy it matters: The nurse, who has not been identified, admitted to injecting a few patients with saline but antibody testing showed a much wider group of people may have been impacted. About 8,600 people may have received the salt solution instead of the genuine vaccine, leaving them at risk.
A lawyer representing the nurse told the German news service DPA that she had switched a single vial, per the New York Times.
The big picture: Many of the people who got vaccinated when the suspected switch took place were elderly people at high risk of catching the virus, per Reuters.
The nurse had previously shared vaccine-skeptical posts on social media, per the Post.
