Lindell Asks Jimmy Kimmel to Host Telethon for His Legal Bills (Not The Onion)

Mike Lindell announced that he is holding a telethon on October 28 to ask people to donate money to his legal defense fund, and he wants to have Jimmy Kimmel host it.

Lindell has been a guest on Kimmel's show twice. Kimmel would only agree to a second appearance on the show if Lindell agreed to sit in a claw machine. Lindell readily agreed, saying the public humiliation was worth it to "get the word out" about his crusade to prove the 2020 election was stolen from his hero Donald Trump.

Now that Lindell is broke and owes his previous attorneys over a million dollars in unpaid legal bills, he needs to raise some cash quick or be forced to represent himself, which he stated earlier this week he is prepared to do. So, he now had an idea to hold a "telethon" where people can donate to his legal defense fund.

'Top secret' Hamas documents show that terrorists intentionally targeted elementary schools

Source: NBC News

Documents exclusively obtained by NBC News show that Hamas created detailed plans to target elementary schools and a youth center in the Israeli kibbutz of Kfar Sa'ad, to "kill as many people as possible," seize hostages and quickly move them into the Gaza Strip.

The attack plans, which are labeled "top secret" in Arabic, appear to be orders for two highly trained Hamas units to surround and infiltrate villages and target places where civilians, including children, gather. Israeli authorities are still determining the death toll in Kfar Sa'ad.

The documents were found on the bodies of Hamas terrorists by Israeli first responders and shared with NBC News. They include detailed maps and show that Hamas intended to kill or take hostage civilians and school children.

One page labeled “Top Secret” outlines a plan of attack for Kfar Sa’ad, saying “Combat unit 1” is directed to “contain the new Da’at school,” while “Combat unit 2” is to “collect hostages,” “search the Bnei Akiva youth center” and “search the old Da’at school.”

4 Democratic centrists to McHenry: Let's make a deal

Source: Politico

Four top centrist Democrats on Friday sent a pitch to Acting Speaker Patrick McHenry: Let’s get the House working again.

In a letter to McHenry that was obtained by POLITICO, Democrats told him they support giving him “temporary, expanded authorities” that would allow the House to take up the most urgent bills — namely, government funding plans.

Specifically, the Democrats are proposing to let McHenry bring up any emergency aid for Ukraine or Israel, a short-term bill that extends government funding through Jan. 11, or general consideration of fiscal 2024 spending bills. Those powers should be limited to 15-day increments, they proposed, with extensions possible if the House GOP continues to remain without a leader.

In exchange, the Democratic quartet suggested, their party would be allowed to fill up 50 percent of the House's suspension calendar — which is reserved for noncontroversial bills and requires two-thirds votes for passage, not simple majorities.

US secretary of defense: Actions of Hamas are 'worse than what I saw with ISIS'

Source: Times of Israel

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin says he believes that in many ways the Hamas terror group is worse than ISIS.

“We’re with you, Mr. Prime Minister, and as the president said, we have your back,” Austin tells Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a meeting in Tel Aviv. “It’s an awful week… disgusting acts by this terrorist group.”

Austin tells Netanyahu: “As you know, I was the guy that initially put the ISIS campaign together and I know a lot about ISIS, and this is worse than what I saw with ISIS.”

House GOP rejects -- again -- bid to avoid messy speaker fight on the floor

Source: Politico

House Republicans on Friday rejected — for the second time this week — a proposal designed to help ensure their pick for speaker has the support needed to prevail on the floor.

GOP lawmakers voted to table a plan to require 217 of the 221 House Republicans to agree on their next leader before any speakership vote on the floor, where Democrats are set to remain united in support of Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.). Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is now the only declared candidate for the GOP’s nod, but he remains short of the support needed to win on the floor.

The GOP conference also rejected several other proposed changes to its internal rules, including a bid by Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.) to require 80 percent support from within its ranks for any speaker candidate. House Republicans will return to another round of private meetings later this afternoon to discuss their leadership vacuum, hearing from Jordan himself.

Seems a meaningless issue. Either they don't have the votes in the conference or they don't have the votes on the House floor.
