Cops handcuff and interrogate boy, 7, for hours over missing $5: family

This kid was no killer — but some callous Bronx cops sure treated him like one.

Instead of earning himself a simple trip to the principal’s office, a terrified 7-year-old boy was hauled out of class, handcuffed like a hardened criminal and “interrogated” by police for a grueling 10 hours — all over a playground dispute involving $5, his family is charging.

“My son was crying, ‘Mommy, it wasn’t me! Mommy, it wasn’t me!’ I never imagined the cops could do that to a child. We’re traumatized,” Wilson Reyes’ distraught mom, Frances Mendez told The Post last night.

“Imagine how I felt seeing my son in handcuffs!’’ she said. “It was horrible. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

The bizarre overreaction by cops came after the child had been accused of swiping $5 from another student after school.

The money, which was supposed to be used for a school trip that never happened, had fallen on the ground in front of Wilson and two other boys, and one of them scooped it up.

Wilson was falsely accused of taking it, and he scuffled with one of the kids.

Officers showed up at PS X114 on Dec. 4 at about 10:20 a.m., and handcuffed and held Wilson in a room there for four hours. They then hauled him off to the 44th Precinct station house for another six hours of interrogation and verbal abuse, according to a $250 million claim against the city and the NYPD.

Republicans want to simultaneously control women's bodies, see them pregnant against their will…

And don't give a fat fucking damn if they die needlessly.

This goes triple if they're poor.

They also don't mind:

- If you're undereducated by the public school system

- If you are convicted and incarcerated for exploitation by the prison industrial complex

- If you have a greater tax burden than their rich friends

- If you're unable to become part of organized labor and bargain collectively and are condemned to a life of wage slavery

- If you don't expect that the Federal Government will come to your aid in case of a natural disaster

- If you're unable to afford adequate healthcare

- If you're not free from gun violence

- If you think that the world is out to get us as an excuse for a bloated military

- If you're generally angry, fearful and ignorant

- If you're supportive of the death penalty

But, on the other hand, if you're a fetus they think the world of you.

Your mommy and the world that she lives in, not so much.

The 8 Most Extreme Moments of the New Congress

Meet the new nut jobs. Same as the old nut jobs.

January 23, 2013 |

The 113th Congress has barely started, but that hasn’t stopped Republicans from already dishing out plenty of extreme, offensive, and out-of-touch comments. Here’s a roundup of the eight most extreme moments so far:

Impeach the president because he wants to reduce gun violence: Freshman Reps. Trey Radel (R-FL) and Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) along with Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) all suggested that the president be impeached because of his efforts to reduce gun violence, particularly a set commonsense executive actions the president took. They also falsely claimed the president wants to ban guns or take away guns away from law-abiding gun owners. Finally, Stockman also recently compared the president to Saddam Hussein.

Gays are too powerful to get equal rights: House Republicans have now wasted nearly $2 MILLION in taxpayer funds, some of which was approved in secret, defending the unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act. Yesterday, the Republicans filed their legal brief with the Supreme Court ahead of the March oral arguments in two marriage-related cases. Among the arguments advanced by their $520 an hour lawyer was the contention that gay people are already too politically powerful to merit equal rights. Republicans recently and once again in secret authorized another million dollars to pay their high-priced lawyer to combat LGBT rights.

Give citizens the same weapons as the military: It’s apparent that we already have too many military-style weapons of on our streets. But that’s not enough for freshman Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), who argued that everyone should be allowed to have the same weapons as the military in order to “protect them against the tyrannical government.”
