UPDATE, 5:58 p.m. | Westlake Center has closed for the night, according to Seattle officers who are turning away shoppers at the doors. The mall was scheduled to remain open until 9 p.m.
UPDATE, 5:25 p.m. | Protesters are at Westlake Center, where the tree-lighting ceremony is under way.
Police have arrested a total of five protesters, according the Seattle Police Department. Three protesters were arrested around 5 p.m. at Fifth Avenue and Pine Street after they allegedly assualted officers.The Convention Place Tunnel Station has reopened, according to King County Metro. The Westlake Station is still closed.
UPDATE, 4:50 p.m.. | Mayor Murray sent out a news release about the protests.
While I understand the hurt and frustration that our city has experienced in the past days, this is a city that respects the rule of law, said Murray. I support the First Amendment rights of (protesters), but violence against property or police officers will not be tolerated in our city.
UPDATE, 4:40 p.m. | Demonstrators marched back downtown for Seattles tree lighting ceremony at Westlake Center.

After clashes with Police, protests have caused Westlake Center to close 3 hours early. Demonstrators were very present during tree lighting ceremony and as I heard on the news, shoppers just started going home. A number of arrests but the message got across.
