Thanks for creating the next etch-a-sketch ad, Mitt

He contradicted his earlier positions - maybe all of them - and it's all on tape.

Romney's a really bad actor with his chuckles

Maybe that's his homage to awful president's of the past.

Romney looks wild eyed and crazy

Looks like he wants to jump out of the screen and eat the 47 percent.

Aw, snap! David Corn just revealed the time & place where the Romney video was filmed

Gave the scoop to Rachel Maddow.

At the home of some douche named Marc Leder, who is a private equity investor. Happened at his home in Boca Raton on May 17.

Fired up!

Who's with me?!

Michelle's speech is amazing, and the entire first day of the convention couldn't have been more inspirational.

Regulate the buying and selling of ammunition

We have to show an ID to buy Sudafed, but the theater shooter is able to get thousands of rounds of ammunition and no one bats an eye.

Something is wrong here. There is no one who needs that much ammunition unless they're waging a war.

I don't believe right to bear arms includes the right to unlimited stocks of ammunition. It's time to bring the abuse of the second amendment under control. And limiting the amount of ammunition people can own and purchase in a year is a reasonable proposition.

At some point the majority of Americans are going to say "enough," and persuade their representatives to pass an amendment banning handguns. And then everyone will lose the right because of the absolutists who won't accept any sensible gun control laws.

I wrote the above in reply to another thread. It's true that mass murders in a movie theater are rare, but mass shootings (Virginia Tech, the people gathered to hear Gabby Giffords speaking) seem to be turning into an epidemic.

Msnbc.com becomes NBCNews.com

Source: MSNBC.com

REDMOND, Wash. — NBC News has acquired full control of msnbc.com and its digital network from Microsoft Corp. and is immediately rebranding the site as NBCNews.com.

Many details of the arrangement remain to be worked out, and financial terms weren't disclosed.

But NBC News President Steve Capus said the site — one of the news industry's earliest and most successful online operations — would become part of NBC News Digital, a new division led by Vivian Schiller, the former president and chief executive of National Public Radio. Schiller joined NBC News as chief digital officer last year.

It's unclear how this will impact MSNBC TV. The site says business as usual for the cable channel, but does anyone really believe that?

The next boom cycle of the US economy

The real economic stimulus program began in 2010 with the remarkable passage of the Affordable Health Care Act by the Democratic Party.

Health care makes up a full sixth of the massive US economy. And with the veil of uncertainty that was lifted on June 28, the next economic boom begins now.

The remaking of the health care industry will create millions of jobs. It's no less than a fundamental transformation from a country with millions uninsured to a culture that values wellness and preventative care.

At last, we will no longer be one of the only rich countries that doesn't have a form of universal care for its citizens. And the bill has the necessary reforms and taxes to prime the system and economy for massive growth. It has the potential to rank among the largest booms many of us have seen in our lifetimes.

And the executive branch of government has the duty to write many of the rules that govern implementation. As a gay man, you can't even imagine the worry that was lifted when Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced the rule that prohibited hospitals that receive Medicare and Medicaid funds from denying visitation from same sex partners and spouses. And the sense of relief knowing that in 2014 you won't ever be denied coverage for a preexisting condition. And if you have a chronic illness, insurers can not impose lifetime caps or drop you when you are sick.

People that stay in a job that they don't like just to have insurance will be able to start a small business without worrying that they or their family be uninsured.

No bill is perfect. But now we have a platform to build upon. I'm hopeful that one day the country will see the wisdom of Medicare for all and adds it to the plan. Until then, I'm overjoyed at the new freedoms people will experience by the assurances provided by the Act.

There are many reasons why we must reelect President Obama, and an important one is that he appoints the men and women who will implement and guide the reforms. I trust a steady Democratic hand more than a brutal republican businessman to pilot the ship. And we may have a chance to move the Supreme Court to the side of fairness; a court that looks forward and not back two centuries ago.

We will create clinics instead of weapons to boost our economy. We will strengthen the middle class while shrinking the gap between rich and poor. Most of the new jobs will be outsource-proof due to the nature of the delivery of health care to millions more people.

The more analysis I read about the ACA, the more I believe it's the jolt our country needed to get back on track with growth. Well done, Mr. President.
