Have there been any Tennessee Senate polls?

Looking at Electoral-vote.com, Tennessee is listed as "leans Republican" in the Senate map because of the 2006 election results.

I'm rather curious if there has been any polling at all on this "race." It's moot since the "Democrat" in the race is running without party support and is a Teabagger who snuck through the Democratic primary, but I'd still like to know where that race stands.

Also would love to know if Clayton would switch to the Republicans in January if by some chance he defeated Corker. My bet is "yes."

What Obama should have said....

When Mittens kept repeating the lie about his plan wouldn't cut taxes on the wealthy, Obama should have said "really? What time this afternoon did you change your mind? Because yesterday you...."

Please, Mr. President, go on the attack.

Audio stream of the debate?

I'm going to be travelling during the debate tomorrow night. I can stream through my phone, but I'd rather not waste the data streaming video.

Does anyone know of any plans to stream the audio of the debate, without the video?

Another account of Romney driving away a GOP voter!

I was at rehearsal last night for "The Importance of Being Earnest" at Cumberland Players. I'm directing the show and my Production Manager is a woman I've known for 20 years. She was my partner Bryan's best friend in college.

We tend not to discuss politics past the local level because she's a lifelong Republican from a Republican family and I've been a confirmed Democrat since working the Mondale campaign in 1984 at the age of 15. We discuss local politics because she and I are the designated shit-stirrers in our respective parties, trying to keep the others honest and true.

During a break in the action last night, I was shocked when she brought up the Presidential race. I tried to steer the conversation back onto safer ground when she said something I never would have expected....

"How can Romney be so stupid?!"

I gaped for a moment and she continued. "How the hell do you expect to win when you go telling 47% of voters that you don't give a shit about them? What kind of an idiot does something like that?"

I made a gentle joke that touched very tangentially on the subject, again trying to steer away from politics but she pressed on.

"That's when I realized that Romney doesn't stand for anything, doesn't mean anything, and is only in this for himself. He's nothing but a self-serving empty suit."

So I guess Gary Johnson won over another vote in New Jersey this week. (I doubt she'd ever vote for Obama.) One more lifelong Republican abandoning the nominee.

It isn't often that you get to see the turning point of an election happen right before your eyes.

Four years ago today....

...John McCain was ahead of Barack Obama in the Presidential race.

Today...

...it's quite a different story.

And today the Senate polls, even those including Rasmussen, show us holding on to a 52-46-2 majority in the Senate. Even if Angus King aligns with the Republicans, we would still have a majority.

Get out there and fight. We need coattails. We need to hold that Senate and take back the House.
