CRYSTAL BALL: This is how Bernie will win

Scan through this article:

Can GOP Party Bosses Rig the Rules to Keep Trump from Winning? You Bet!

http://www.alternet.org/election-2016/can-gop-party-bosses-rig-rules-keep-trump-winning-you-bet?akid=13485.227380.OTopoO&rd=1&src=newsletter1042591&t=3

...Republican Party bosses could rig the arcane rules governing awarding delegates and convention votes to keep the nomination from Trump.

“I think they will eventually,” said Curly Haugland, a Republican National Committee member from North Dakota and longtime RNC Rules Committee member, in an interview before Wednesday’s presidential debate. “This process was set up for Bush or Walker to win—establishment guys.”

Though Haugland is one of 168 RNC members, he’s a maverick who’s been making the eyebrow-raising argument that the rules governing the 2016 convention are filled with contradictions that nullify whatever occurs before the opening gavel hits the podium in Cleveland next July—including the primary season’s results. Convention delegates and nobody else, he says, get to choose the 2016 presidential ticket.

“Everybody is depending on these primary results, except it is all built on a house of cards, a fabricated reality,” he said. “Everybody wants to have a presumptive nominee. There’s hundreds of millions of dollars at stake to buy votes for primary elections. The votes they are buying are worthless. Nobody wants to hear that story.”

Haugland spent an hour on the phone patiently dissecting the RNC’s 21-page rule book. Delegates are not bound to vote for any candidate once the convention opens, he said, citing various sections. Winner-take-all delegate allocations from the states are prohibited, he said, even though that’s what RNC attorneys want many states to agree to after March 15. The convention is run under Robert’s Rules of Order, not legally bound by state election results. And with so many candidates, it’s likely that no one will reach the RNC’s required threshold to put names officially into nomination, he said, which is a majority of RNC members from 8 states or U.S. territories backing a candidate.

As Haugland said, nobody “wants to hear that story,” because “all of the (primary) votes go away.”...

Let's assume that the GOP is sufficiently stupid as to pull this. The disenfranchised will have nowhere to turn but Bernie. Yes, some of them may be so shriveled inside as to vote GOP no matter what, but those that truly want change....well, those are the voters Bernie wants.

Once the GOP delivers the disaffected to Bernie, he can mold, educate and direct them into becoming better citizens.

The only thing We Democrats have to do, is make sure nobody at the DNC tries this kind of stunt on us!

New Data Reveals U.S. Far From Freest Country in the World

http://theantimedia.org/new-data-reveals-us-far-from-freest-country-in-the-world/

According to the annual Economic Freedom of the World report, the United States has dropped to #16 in an index of economic freedom.

The list, released by the Fraser Institute, ranks countries around the world by a number of different factors that include the size and scope of government: expenditures, taxes, enterprises, legal structure and security of property rights, access to sound money, freedom to trade internationally, and regulation of credit, labor, and business were all evaluated. The study also considered income levels and poverty rates.

As the introduction of the study details:

“The cornerstones of economic freedom are (1) personal choice, (2) voluntary exchange coordinated by markets, (3) freedom to enter and compete in markets, and (4) protection of persons and their property from aggression by others. Economic freedom is present when individuals are permitted to choose for themselves and engage in voluntary transactions as long as they do not harm the person or property of others.”

At the top of the list was Hong Kong, followed by Singapore, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Mauritius, Jordan, Ireland, and Canada. The United Kingdom and Chile tied at #10. The United States followed behind at #16, continuing a downward trend that has grown for several years...

Some Counties In Texas Actually Are Denying Birthright Citizenship

http://thinkprogress.org/immigration/2015/09/18/3702996/texas-immigrant-birth-certificates/

Since 2016 Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump released his immigration policy plan to end granting citizenship to U.S.-citizen children born to undocumented immigrants, other GOP candidates have become remarkably supportive of this hard-line stance. Many scholars point out that it’s unclear how this policy would work in practice. It would likely take an act of Congress or a constitutional amendment to overrule the current birthright citizenship provision of the 14th Amendment, it would be incredibly expensive to implement, and the number of babies being born to undocumented parents is already on the decline.

Nonetheless, GOP candidates eager to end birthright citizenship need look no further than Texas, where local country registrars have started to make that situation a reality for hundreds of immigrant parents living along the border.

In the Lone Star state, undocumented immigrants say they’ve been denied birth certificates for their children since 2013. Without that official document, it’s difficult for them to enroll their child in other programs, like Medicaid or day care, or even get baptized...

The US-Saudi Oil Deal: From “Win-Win” to “Mega-Loose”

http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-us-saudi-oil-deal-from-win-win-to-mega-loose/5467991

Who would’ve thought it would come to this? Certainly not the Obama Administration, and their brilliant geo-political think-tank neo-conservative strategists...John Kerry’s brilliant “win-win” proposal of last September during his September 11 Jeddah meeting with ailing Saudi King Abdullah was simple: Do a rerun of the highly successful State Department-Saudi deal in 1986 when Washington persuaded the Saudis to flood the world market at a time of over-supply in order to collapse oil prices worldwide, a kind of “oil shock in reverse.” In 1986 was successful in helping to break the back of a faltering Soviet Union highly dependent on dollar oil export revenues for maintaining its grip on power.

So, though it was not made public, Kerry and Abdullah agreed on September 11, 2014 that the Saudis would use their oil muscle to bring Putin’s Russia to their knees today.

It seemed brilliant at the time no doubt.

On the following day, 12 September 2014, the US Treasury’s aptly-named Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, headed by Treasury Under-Secretary David S. Cohen, announced new sanctions against Russia’s energy giants Gazprom, Gazprom Neft, Lukoil, Surgutneftgas and Rosneft. It forbid US oil companies to participate with the Russian companies in joint ventures for oil or gas offshore or in the Arctic.

Then, just as the ruble was rapidly falling and Russian major corporations were scrambling for dollars for their year-end settlements, a collapse of world oil prices would end Putin’s reign. That was clearly the thinking of the hollowed-out souls who pass for statesmen in Washington today. Victoria Nuland was jubilant, praising the precision new financial warfare weapon at David Cohen’s Treasury financial terrorism unit.

In July, 2014 West Texas Intermediate, the benchmark price for US domestic oil pricing, traded at $101 a barrel. The shale oil bonanza was booming, making the US into a major oil player for the first time since the 1970’s. When WTI hit $46 at the beginning of January this year, suddenly things looked different. Washington realized they had shot themselves in the foot...They realized that the over-indebted US shale oil industry was about to collapse under the falling oil price. Behind the scenes Washington and Wall Street colluded to artificially stabilize what then was an impending chain-reaction bankruptcy collapse in the US shale oil industry. As a result oil prices began a slow rise, hitting $53 in February. The Wall Street and Washington propaganda mills began talking about the end of falling oil prices. By May prices had crept up to $62 and almost everyone was convinced oil recovery was in process. How wrong they were.

Since that September 11 Kerry-Abdullah meeting (curious date to pick, given the climate of suspicion that the Bush family is covering up involvement of the Saudis in or around the events of September 11, 2001), the Saudis have a new ageing King, Absolute Monarch and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, replacing the since deceased old ageing King, Abdullah. However, the Oil Minister remains unchanged—79-year-old Ali al-Naimi. It was al-Naimi who reportedly saw the golden opportunity in the Kerry proposal to use the chance to at the same time kill off the growing market challenge from the rising output of the unconventional USA shale oil industry. Al-Naimi has said repeatedly that he is determined to eliminate the US shale oil “disturbance” to Saudi domination of world oil markets. Not only are the Saudis unhappy with the US shale oil intrusion on their oily Kingdom. They are more than upset with the recent deal the Obama Administration made with Iran that will likely lead in several months to lifting Iran economic sanctions. In fact the Saudis are beside themselves with rage against Washington, so much so that they have openly admitted an alliance with arch foe, Israel, to combat what they see as the Iran growing dominance in the region—in Syria, in Lebanon, in Iraq. This has all added up to an iron Saudi determination, aided by close Gulf Arab allies, to further crash oil prices until the expected wave of shale oil company bankruptcies—that was halted in January by Washington and Wall Street manipulations—finishes off the US shale oil competition. That day may come soon, but with unintended consequences for the entire global financial system at a time such consequences can ill be afforded.

HOIST ON THEIR OWN PETARDS, THE US AND THE SAUDIS SHALL FALL TOGETHER!--KASSANDRA (DEMETER'S ALTER EGO)

...In short, Washington has completely lost its strategic leverage over Saudi Arabia, a Kingdom that had been considered a Washington vassal ever since FDR’s deal to bring US oil majors in on an exclusive basis in 1945.

WHAT PRICE 9/11? AND NOW, THE SAUDIS ARE TRYING TO MAKE A DEAL WITH PUTIN....CAN YOU SPELL EPIC FAILURE?

Weekend Economists Implore: "Say it ain't so, Joe" September 18-20, 2015

Yes, you can take that thread headline to mean Biden shouldn't run....

but I'm primarily (pun) thinking of the Black Sox scandal of 1919, when Shoeless Joe Jackson was one of 8 Chicago White Sox players indicted for taking a bribe to throw the World Series.

The World Series is coming up next month, my friend the Queen of Sports tells me. She says St. Louis and Kansas City look like the most likely matchup. Since both of these teams are based in Missouri, it should be pretty boring for the rest of the nation. We shall see what happens: there's still a month, nearly. Anything could happen.

Well, almost anything. I don't expect the Detroit Tigers to come from behind. The Tigers are doing worse than usual, but the manager has been fired, or will be, so things are looking up. I remember the celebration on the streets by my home when Detroit won the Series in 1968, one year after the terrifying riots. It's been downhill ever since for my native land...

Tell your baseball tales of days of yore---blood and gore---run and score. And if you should slip in a little news on the economy, that's all good, too.

(On a personal note: ever since I found out what kind of vile disease my daughter gifted me, and gotten the right medication for the bronchitis it induced, I am feeling much better, and may actually live through the weekend and start to make a real recovery. I've never had bronchitis before....it's awful! Stay healthy, and avoid my daughter like the plague!)

They did it again on Diane Rehm show!

Diane wasn't there...I think it was Suzanne Day.

They were discussing GOP Debate #2, and how the field is full 0.1% incomes--including Hillary on that list.

Then she points out a couple of GOP contenders who WERE NOT born with a silver spoon in mouth, and did not rank in the 0.1%, and strangely enough, Bernie's name didn't come up!

If Hillary's did, and his didn't, it's too frequent to be a coincidence.

The Corporate Media is fervently hoping that Bernie will just go away....it will be a great astonishment to them when he doesn't.

Cindy Gamrat has filed to run in special election for old MI House seat

http://www.wxyz.com/news/cindy-gamrat-has-filed-to-run-in-special-election-for-old-mi-house-seat

Cindy Gamrat is not giving up so easily.

The former Michigan Representative who was expelled for misconduct in office has filed paperwork to run in the special election for her old seat, according to the Allegan County Clerk's office.

Just last week, Gamrat was escorted from the House floor following her expulsion.

Former Representative Todd Courser, who resigned from his position, and Gamrat have been embroiled in a sex scandal for the past month, during which they admitted to misusing public funds.

ABSOLUTELY SHAMELESS! WILL THE VOTERS LET HER BACK IN?
September 17, 2015

Actually, he's totally awesome

as the Millennials would say.

And so is his campaign.

Rumor has it that Trump is taking the electorate for a ride--that he's not "seriously" campaigning or building the infrastructure to support a real campaign.

I'm of two minds:

1) does one really need all that infrastructure? It doesn't seem to be doing Hillary a bit of good.

2) Bernie's got the structure-it's spontaneously generating from the public support he's generated. Doesn't appear to be happening for Trump.

Of course, Bernie's momentum is building upon several progressive grassroots groups (intentionally or not, probably not): like Occupy and less national efforts, and social media is being vigorously exploited for him. The police brutality publicity doesn't hurt him, either. Bernie is the biggest crest on a wave of reform and revolt that started with W (if not earlier) and has continued to grow in the face of the throwing of progressive ideas and people under the Obama bus. Ed Snowden is another contributing factor--the government has been caught with its Constitutional pants down, pissing on the public, and ordinary people are enraged.

"May you live in interesting times!" Well, we certainly do!

Driver’s Licenses From 4 States Could Be Useless For Getting Through Airport Security NH NY MN LA

http://consumerist.com/2015/09/14/drivers-licenses-from-4-states-could-soon-be-useless-for-getting-through-airport-security/

...Ten years ago, Congress passed the REAL ID Act, which set minimum security standards for state-issued driver’s licenses and photo IDs, but it wasn’t until the end of 2013 that the Dept. of Homeland Security announced the phase-in of its enforcement plan.

If state IDs fail to comply with those standards, federal agencies can’t accept them as standalone proof of identification. The final phase of the DHS plan is access to commercial aircraft. According to the agency’s own timeline, full enforcement is due to begin “No sooner than 2016.” ...

...Only about half the states and U.S. territories impacted by these requirements are fully REAL ID compliant. Most others have valid extensions that will allow their residents to continue using their non-compliant IDs. However, as USA Today notes, there are four states — Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York — that are currently not in compliance with the rules, meaning travelers holding IDs from these states and American Samoa may need to start bringing second forms of ID with them when they travel.

Not everyone in these states will be affected, as both Minnesota and New York offer enhanced IDs that are REAL ID compliant. A rep for the New York DMV tells WKBW-TV that it has received no guidance from DHS about when the state’s licenses will no longer be sufficient for boarding commercial aircraft.

Opinion: Is Biden-Gillibrand the winning ticket for 2016? GRASPING AT STRAWS DEPT.

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/is-biden-gillibrand-the-winning-ticket-for-2016-2015-09-16?siteid=YAHOOB

...Warren would indeed energize the party’s progressive wing, but Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders is already doing a great job of that. Sanders would fade quickly if Biden offered another alternative to Clinton and those energized voters would fall in line behind the vice president....

PURELY DELUSIONAL, FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.
