Politics Supreme Court nominee Gorsuch says Trumps attacks on judiciary are demoralizing

President Trumps escalating attacks on the judicial branch drew denunciation Wednesday from his Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, who told lawmakers that the attacks were demoralizing and disheartening to the independence of the federal courts.
He certainly expressed to me that he is disheartened by the demoralizing and abhorrent comments made by President Trump about the judiciary, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D- Conn.) told reporters after meeting privately with Gorsuch.
Gorsuchs comments to Blumenthal were confirmed by Ron Bonjean, a member of the judges sherpa team, a group of aides tasked with helping him navigate the confirmation process.
Earlier in the day, Trump continued his days-long crusade against the judicial branch, after a Seattle judge halted his controversial executive order barring immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries.

Poor people in rural areas
I keep seeing stuff about poor people in rural areas waiting for Trump to bring jobs to to their communities. I hate to say it but if you live in a rural area and are waiting for some big company to move in or for coal to come back you are probably going to be disappointed and poor the rest of your life. I also understand it's hard, expensive and scary to uproot your family and move. What about some kind of program that gives poor people money to go to a city or a place where there are better paying jobs? Something that gets them dreaming and willing to take a couple of risks but not devastating if it doesn't work out.

League of the South Announces Formation of Southern Defense Force
Edging closer to militancy, the neo-Confederate League of the South says it's forming a force to combat the 'leftist menace to our historic Christian civilization.'
In a military-styled order titled Directive 02022017, Michael Hill, president of the neo-Confederate League of the South (LOS), announced Friday the formation of a new vigilante defense force.
[T]he League of the South is calling for all able-bodied, traditionalist Southern men to join our organizations Southern Defense Force for the purpose of helping our State and local magistrates across Dixie combat this growing leftist menace to our historic Christian civilization. As private citizens in a private organization, we will stand ready to protect our own families and friends, our property, and our liberty from leftist chaos. Moreover, we will be ready to assist our local and State authorities in keeping the peace should they find it necessary to deputize private citizens for that purpose.
It remains to be seen what actions the new Southern Defense Force [SDF] will take to plan for contingencies natural or man-made that might affect the Southern people. But announcements of plans to militarize the League are not new.

Bowling Green Massacre is the #1 trending item on Facebook by a mile
This may do permanent damage to Kellyanne Conway. It's the kind of thing that sticks with someone because people can get so creative with it and it's a reminder that she just makes shit up and can't be trusted.
