Is it odd that none of the Bushies have been invited to the RNC in
Tampa? Seems Raisin Brain is in hiding these days. Given Mitten’s
recent verbal gaffes, you would think he’d LOVE to have Dubya stammer
around, just to make him look better, if nothing else.
Bush had this to say in a July 18 interview with the Hoover Institution uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday:
” I don’t want to undermine our President — whoever’s President — and
a former President can do that,” Bush said. “Either you’re in or out of
politics. . . . You can’t be that halfway.” (you can't be that halfway? Is that like "you can't take the high road and claim the low horse? Gawd I miss him!)
“Look, eight years was awesome,” he continued. “You know, I was famous and I was powerful, but I have no desire for fame and power anymore. I have found that life after the presidency is awesome,” Bush said during the hourlong sit-down.
Near the tail end of the interview—taped near the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, slated to open to the public in 2013—Bush was asked why he chose to vacation in Crawford, Texas, rather than Maine like his father. “My dad bequeathed me three great gifts,” Bush said. “An awesome name, an unconditional love and being raised in West Texas.”
One guess as to what Dim Son’s word-of-the-day calendar was on July 18.
Neither Pappy nor Brunhilda, er Barbara will be in attendance,
either. Naturally, Jeb is on the guest list, but you have to wonder if
Mittens’ minions will let him in the door . . . he could upset their
entire applecart.

The Obama administration’s birth control mandate took effect Wednesday, granting an estimated 47 million women access to free contraception and a raft of preventive health services.
As of Aug. 1, new or renewing health insurance plans are required to provide birth control to women at no out-of-pocket cost. Houses of worship are exempt and religious nonprofits get a one-year reprieve, as well as the option to pass the cost to the insurance company.

“Women deserve to have control over their health care,” said HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. “Aug. 1, 2012, ushers in a new day for women’s health when, for the first time ever, women will have access to eight new services at no out-of-pocket cost to keep them healthier and to catch potentially serious conditions at an earlier, more treatable stage.”

The Obama campaign is making the president’s proposal to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire on income over $250,000 a campaign issue in a new ad, the campaign announced Tuesday evening. The ad harkens back to the Bush years with wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and a growing deficit, portraying Romney’s policies as an extension of George W. Bush’s.
“I’m Barack Obama, and I approve this message because to cut the deficit we need everyone to pay their fair share,” Obama says at the end of the ad.
The ad, “Worried,” is up in Colorado, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio and Florida.
