And an army of propagandists.
A great deal of our money is now being poured into lying to and manipulating us. This is the behavior of nations that turn authoritarian and deeply corrupt. Utter contempt for and deliberate manipulation of the citizens these corrupt politicians pretend to represent.

Ominous shift in rhetoric, IMO. There's always a greater evil to justify a lesser evil.
Democrats used to stand firm against any cuts to Social Security whatsoever. Now they have explicitly shifted their rhetoric to proclaim that they oppose "privatization." That's a move rightward. That suggests a willingness to entertain cuts that fall short of "privatization." I consider this a disturbing shift in rhetoric. |

That lesser of evils scam doesn't fly anymore.
Voting for the lesser of evils keeps moving us further into evil. We are now at a point where half of American schoolchildren live in poverty, and a few billionaires own half of the wealth of the planet. We keep teaching corporate thieves that all they have to do to continue their agenda is play this "lesser of two evils" scam on us. We have taught corporate Democrats that they can enact literally a fascist agenda and still get our votes. We have to unteach them that. It's our only hope at this point, because we're going down either way. And no, not gonna argue about this. I have heard the Supreme Court arguments, and I find them to be bullshit. On what planet can we trust that a Third Way predator will protect the Supreme Court, when the current Third Way administration is aggressively dismantling our Bill of Rights and making a mockery of what a "Justice Department" is supposed to be? It's a tactic of Third Way propaganda to leap ahead and try to argue from the point at which Hillary is already the nominee. I refuse to go there. There is nothing more important right now than STOPPING her or any other corporate predator in a Democrat suit from being shoved down our throats as our party's nominee. Because if the Third Way can do that, they have ensured that the predatory agenda continues no matter who is elected. while the Third Way and the Republicans laugh all the way to the bank.
This OP hit a deep nerve, as you can tell by the BOG swarm above working desperately to divert to any topic other than the actual content of the OP. This corporate Trojan horse presidency is STILL systematically working to shove TPP down our throats and empower corporations to exploit millions more of us. The speech promised unprecedented corporate domination, more bloody war for profit, continued evisceration of our fundamental freedoms...all wrapped up in pretty progressive rhetoric that the president doesn't have to worry about fulfilling, because the DCCC "Accept Doom" midterm strategy worked, and corporate Republicans now have majorities. What a scam. What a perfect example of what corporate government give us: Shiny lies and advertisements designed to mask an agenda that is dismantling democracy itself. Nothing is more important than exposing Third Way infiltration, predation, and lies in our party. Nothing is more important than making sure that Hillary or another Third Way corporatist in a Democrat suit is not shoved down our throats as the Democratic nominee in 2016. This country cannot survive four more years of pretty progressive lies wrapped around a real agenda of TPP, endless war for profit, and police state dismantling of our Bill of Rights. |

Next step of the 1% Plan: Make Americans forget what the Obama administration taught us:
That we have united, bipartisan corporate oligarchy now, and our democracy has been stolen from us. That our problem is not merely Republicans, but a deep, pervasive, corporate, monied corruption infesting both parties and all three branches of government. And that we need deep, fundamental change - corporate money and power out of Washington - in order to fix it.
Now that the R's hold the majority, corporate-purchased neoliberal Democrats can again ostentatiously lie to our faces and pretend to support all the policies they insulted Americans for wanting for the past six years, dismissing them as as fringe, extremist, pony dreams. But make no mistake what the plan really is. The same predatory agenda as before is headed right toward us, orchestrated and approved by both corporate parties: Predatory, antidemocratic, job-strangling "trade" agreements, endless MIC war for profit, police/surveillance state. Bipartisan. All wrapped up in pretty progressive-sounding words that are finally safe for our neoliberal president to say out loud, now that Republicans hold a majority. The DCCC campaign of "Accept Doom" for midterms went exactly as the oligarchy planned. Neoliberals and neoconservatives are going to shove this "free trade" garbage into every American orifice, laughing all the way to the bank. And they'll use that money siphoned from our pockets to hire more mocking propagandists to lie to us and tell us our democracy is still functional, corporate Democrats have our back, and the chocolate ration will increased yet again if we just support corporate Democrats hard enough. They want us to forget that we finally saw the truth with our own eyes: that we have United Oligarchy, not gridlocked democracy. They want us to forget the need for radical, fundamental change to address the deep, systemic, bipartisan corporate corruption of our democracy - the need for corporate money and power out of Washington - and instead sink back into the delusional world of propaganda they have constructed for us, in which our only real problem is that Republicans are in power again... ...and we just have to vote a little harder to get the corporate Democrats back in. . |
