For years, Sandra Diaz and Victorina Morales were undocumented and largely invisible employees of Donald Trump, domestics who laid out his golf clothes, served his meals and scrubbed his toilets, even as he took aim at illegal immigrants and Hispanics on the way to becoming president.

On Wednesday, the women held themselves up as symbols of what they called Trump’s hypocritical immigration policies as they received a standing ovation from Local 226, a culinary workers union that hosted three Democratic presidential candidates this week.

A short time after Morales and Diaz denounced their former employer Wednesday, they got a hug from one of Trump’s chief opponents,
former vice president Joe Biden, who was making his pitch to the largely Latino gathering of union workers.

“I’m going to tell you who is Mr. Trump,” Diaz told the crowd. “How he’s a big liar. .?.?. He still lies about immigrants. He says we are bad people. And I will stand here and say he lies, because we are good workers and good people.”

Four Rhode Island elected officials endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday in his bid for the Democraric presidential nomination, Biden’s campaign announced.

Lt. Gov. Dan McKee, Central Falls Mayor James Diossa, state Sen. Louis DiPalma, D-Middletown, and state Rep. Carlos Tobon, D-Pawtucket, have thrown their support behind the former vice president and U.S. senator from Delaware....

DiPalma told The Journal in July he was supporting the former vice president.

“We’re proud to have this diverse group of public servants working by our side to defeat Donald Trump, to restore the soul of this country, and to reunite Americans to get things done,” said Greg Schultz, Biden’s campaign manager said in a news release.

“Star Wars” actress Daisy Ridley doesn’t believe anyone can be both sane and a Donald Trump supporter.

The 27-year-old British actress, who plays the lead role in the final three chapters of the iconic sci-fi franchise, expressed some of her political views recently in an interview with The Guardian.

“No, I don’t feel I have to edit what I say,” Ridley told the newspaper. “The things that make me angry are the things that make everyone angry. Everyone is annoyed with BoJo (Boris Johnson). Everyone has an issue with Trump – every sane person, anyway."
