Priorities USA Files State Lawsuit Challenging Missouri Voter ID Law
Another lawsuit to protect voting rights http://electionlawblog.org/?p=99520
This is a really interesting state lawsuit. To simplify a bit: Missouri had a voter id law, which the state supreme court struck down as unconstitutional under the state constitution. So Missouri legislators put a voter id requirement into the state constitution, and then passed implementing legislation prescribing which forms of id were acceptable etc.
The new lawsuit claims that the implementing legislation violates the new voter id requirement in the state constitution.
You can find the complaint here.

Holder's redistricting group backs new lawsuits in 3 states
Yeah for AG Holder http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/article213069134.html
A group backed by Democratic former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder wants one new majority-black congressional district in Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana in time for the 2020 general elections, according to new federal lawsuits filed Wednesday in each state.
The legal challenges, which are supported by Holder's National Redistricting Foundation, an affiliate of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee a political action committee chaired by Holder claim the new majority-minority districts are needed because each states current electoral maps violate the federal Voting Rights Act by depriving black voters of the ability to elect representatives of their choice.
Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, Louisiana Secretary of State R. Kyle Ardoin and Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill are defendants in the filings, which note each states history of racially polarized voting and disenfranchisement of black voters.

Obama group announces midterms hit list
Yeah for President Obama https://www.politico.com/story/2018/06/12/organizing-for-action-2018-plan-640212
Organizing for Action, the group formed out of Barack Obamas old campaign apparatus, is moving more directly into politics than ever before, deploying in 27 House races around the country this year.
Through an existing partnership with the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, OFA will also work in nine states to campaign for ballot initiatives and Democrats running for governor and state legislature positions. The group is pushing for greater Democratic control over redistricting ahead of the 2020 Census.....
he full list of districts includes several where Donald Trump did better than Hillary Clinton. It does not include all the seats held by Republicans in districts where Clinton beat Trump, which Democrats tend to see as their best opportunities for pickups in November.
