Trump's Truth Social has trademark application denied as setbacks pile up
Remember that Trump Media & Technology was supposed to be capitalized with between $780 million and $1 billion when the merger with the special purpose acquisition corporation was consummated. When you are building a major company, you have to be careful with your intellectual property and trademarks. Here the name Truth Social is too close to at least two other trademarks
TFG is a horrible businessman and should have spent the money to make sure that his intellectual property was in good shape.

Why it matters: The trademark refusal is just the latest setback for the former president's social media app and its parent company, which have been beset by a raft of issues over the past few months.
What's happening: The USPTO found two other companies who already use the Truth Social wording, which would create what's known as "likelihood of confusion" if Trump also got the mark......
The big picture: Truth Social and the SPAC looking to take its parent company public have faced enormous legal and technical challenges ever since the app was announced last October.
Last week, Digital World Acquisition Group (DWAC), the blank check company that plans to merge with the parent company Truth Social to take it public, looked to delay its earnings report
The week before it asked shareholders to approve an extension of its merger agreement by a year.
The Truth Social app missed its launch deadline, putting thousands of users on a waitlist for weeks.
The SPAC is under investigation by the SEC for possibly negotiating their deal prior to DWAC going public, which is illegal if true.
An investor sued the SPAC's CEO last year claiming fraud.
There's been confusion regarding whether or not certain members of the board are still on the board.

But for investigations by the SEC and a DOJ grand jury, TFG's Trump Media and Technology (TMT) would have merged into a Special Purpose Acquisition Corp and TMT would have between $780 million to $1 billion available to build a media empire. TFG has only put in $50,000 or so into TMT according to what I have seen in the financial statements filed with the SEC. The acquisition has been delayed by the SEC and DOJ investigations and it appears that TFG cannot afford to fund TMT

Sources tell Fox Business that if the allegations are true, it would suggest that Truth Socials finances "are in significant disarray."
The vendor in question, RightForge, is among Truth Socials largest vendors and creditors.
RightForge accuses Truth Social of reneging on its "contractually obligated monthly payments" for setting up the platforms online infrastructure, sources tell Fox Business.
The company also says Truth Social made just three payments and ceased making payments since around March. RightForge says Truth Social now owes $1.6 million and is threatening legal action.
This could mean that Devin Nunes is going to out of job soon.
Agan, but for the SEC and DOJ investigations, TMT wold have plenty of money to lose on Trump Social

But his statements are prompting charges of hypocrisy because the city claims the presidents political campaign owes an outstanding debt from a February campaign rally specifically, more than half a million dollars.
On Monday, an El Paso city official said Trump has yet to pay.
According to Laura Cruz-Acosta, communications manager for the El Paso city managers office, the president has an outstanding bill of $569,204.63 for police and public safety services associated with a February campaign rally.
The city staff have followed the process and procedures as it relates to any invoicing that we provide, and we will continue to do so accordingly as per city and state policies, Cruz-Acosta said. She said that Trump owed an initial fee of $470,417.05 but that the city tacked on a 21% one-time late fee in June 30 days after the campaign failed to pay the initial amount owed.

Democratic Senate campaign fundraising outpaces GOP for fourth straight month
The Democrats need to thank TFG for sucking up all of the small donors and Rick Scott for being an asshole who cannot run this campaign

With less than three months until the November elections, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee appears to be in a more formidable financial position, with $54.1 million cash on hand, well more than double the $23 million left in the National Republican Senatorial Committees account.
The NRSC reported about $8 million in fundraising in July.
The DSCCs $10 million total last month is down from the $12.5 million it raised in June, when, it said, there was a surge in donations after the Supreme Court struck down constitutional protections for abortion.
The fundraising figures were reported amid increasing questions over whether Republican can wrest control of the 50-50 Senate from Democrats in a midterm year that had been predicted to be favorable to them.
DeSantis fighter jet ad conjures 1988 Dukakis tank debacle
DeathSantis wants to follow in the footsteps of Dukakis

Hence the Top Gov label at the beginning of his latest political ad, which resembles that of Cruises Top Gun movies, and the slo-mo shots of the Republican governor zipping up a flight suit over an energetic guitar music track. DeSantis briefs an out-of-view team presumably Florida voters about the rules of engagement for dogfighting with the corporate media. At one point, he sits in the cockpit of what appears to be a fighter jet, flight helmet on, and says, Alright, ladies and gentlemen.
What are DeSantis and his team getting instead? Comparisons to Michael Dukakis, the Massachusetts governor who made one of the most-mocked campaign photo ops in modern political history while running for president in 1988.....
So, seeking to bolster his national security chops, Dukakis gave a speech at an M1 Abrams tank manufacturing plant in Sterling Heights, Mich.
Somebody had the not great idea of putting my dad in a tank, said John Dukakis, the candidates son, in the documentary. With a helmet, of course, because you cant ride a tank without a helmet.
