keep_left's JournalThese people are just asking for it. On top of the pandemic, inflation, Ukraine, and...
...everything else that's gone wrong, they pile more stress and strain on a beleaguered country and political system. Apparently the events of the past few years (George Floyd protests, January 6, etc.) have not made any impact whatsoever. At some point, you reap the whirlwind.
I never dreamed that these psychopaths would turn a pandemic into another front...
...in the culture war, but here we are. Trump started it with his anti-mask shit, and it snowballed from there. Pretty soon the MAGA candidates running for office saw it as an easy way to outdo each other on Fox/OANN/NewsMax, etc. Then the basement-dwelling incel losers of 4Chan/8Chan/whatever-the-hell-they-call-it-now turned it into Pepe memes and snappy thought-terminating clichés about how they are "pure bloods" who are free from Soros' mind-control chips.
The woman on the right in that video--is that a Russian accent?
At a Trump rally? Figures.
Dr Drew also gave some terrible advice about Covid...
...and then got his ass handed to him by the virus. This was in the early days of the alpha and delta strains which were really great at infecting the lower respiratory system. Drew got really sick and eventually to his credit went back on the news media to warn people after he recovered. But as a physician he should have known better; instead, he apparently felt that clout-chasing on Fox News was more important than being a doctor.
Panel #4 is a great illustration of...
...the 4Chan-to-fash pipeline. Or the Reddit-to-fash pipeline. Or...well, you get the picture. There are too many to count.
Well, he's gonna be Dead Jr if he doesn't start laying off the blow...
...or whatever else he might be using. Don Jr also looks like he's aging badly, which isn't too surprising since he's been burning the candle at both ends for a long time now.
The "doctrine of cheap grace", favored by many nondenominational fundamentalists.
Just say the Sinner's Prayer and you're saved. It's like the "get out of jail" card in the old game Monopoly. "Cheap grace" is frowned upon by more mainline Christians, especially Catholics, but that has done nothing to decrease its popularity, especially in the USA. There's even a version of it for people like Newt Gingrich who converted to radtrad Catholicism after decades of busting up their marriages with affairs and other reprobate behavior: they have been "made anew" by joining the One True Church (presumably through the Sacraments, particularly Confession).

Guarendi also has a LONG history of chud behavior. More than 20 years ago...
...he was part of a moronic experiment called "CatholicFamilyRadio" (yes, all one word), which was funded by several radtrad Catholic billionaires including Tom Monaghan. They hired dirt-cheap unlistenable "talent" and burned through something like $150M in a year and a half. Guarendi was one of the talentless hacks they hired. And now he has a show on EWTN.

Not too surprised about the father being a Mormon. But this kind of...
...persecution delusion nonsense--"normalization of sin", "liberal Hollywood media programming", "they're destroying the family"--is found in a lot of fundamentalist and authoritarian religions. The radtrad EWTN network has a show featuring the execrable "Dr" Ray Guarendi who sounds way too much like this chud.
This is yet another example of faith being used as a weapon instead of a suit of armor.
