hedgehog's JournalBaptism - who should be baptized?
My oldest is 33, my youngest is 22 and the Church policy when my kids were born was to emphasize Baptism as initiation into the community. In other words, you were expected to be at Mass on a regular basis and follow other Church rules if you wanted your child baptized.
So now, a friend of my daughter is living in unwedded bliss with his girl friend with no intention to marry on the near horizon. He hasn't been to Mass in years. He wants to have his young son baptized.
So - refuse Baptism to those who might show up for Christmas and Easter, First Communion and weddings?
Or - baptize the baby and hope the family retains some connection to the Church?
Poinsettias - have you had luck keeping them going?
Has anyone, anywhere actually seen any seeds?
Ack! I've never had this problem before, but one of the cats is attacking the vertical
strip of wood work on a door frame. How do I re-direct this critter?
Aw, C'mon category:
I bought some peppermint sticks to crush and sprinkle on top of cookies. All the peppermint sticks I found at the store were MAde in Mexico.
They hardly taste like peppermint at all, just soft sugar candy.
Is peppermint oil that expensive?
Is there anyone here who doesn't think we need massive prison reform?
How do we get this on the table?
Do you still have your Christmas tree up?
What year is it?
Pavlov's Dog in real life -
- the sound of the dishwasher running means that people will wander into the kitchen to use some more dishes.
I'm confused - which Congress is in session?
Didn't the old Congress end last night at midnight? Why is Boehner still in charge? Was he re-elected already?
