There was a flood in a city in which this devoted Christian lived. He stood on his roof as the water rose. He prayed, "God, please save me. Please don't let me drown."
Just as he finished his prayer, a man appeared in a row boat. "Get in", he shouted to the man on his roof. "No", said the man on the roof, "the Lord will save me". 15 minutes later, a helicopter appeared, and dropped a rope ladder to the man on the roof, "no need to bother. The Lord will save me", said the man on the roof. A half hour later, with the man on the roof now up to his neck in water, a man in a raft appeared and said, "Jump in, Jump in, or you will surely drown". The man on the roof still remained faithful. "The Lord will not let me down, He will answer my prayers". Eventually, the man on the roof did drown, and met the Lord in heaven. The man said to his Lord, "Why did you let me drown. Why didn't you answer my prayers?" and the Lord replied, "who do you think sent the boat, the helicopter and the raft?"
We can pray all we want after another mass killing tragedy, but stricter gun laws are the Lord's version of the boat, the helicopter and the raft.

We need to pray for the victims
of Columbine, Colorado, Sandy Hook, San Bernardino, Orlando and now Las Vegas.
I'd rather have stricter gun laws. It seems like the praying isn't working so well.

This is no time to talk politics
After all, the shooter was a white guy who traces his roots in this country back at least 3 generations.
And if politics did come up, it would center around gun control. Or how Trump's Muslim ban or border wall would not have prevented this tragedy so naturally up pops the "NO POLITICS" sign.
The only time we are allowed to talk politics immediately after an attack, is if the attack was perpetrated by a Muslim or an undocumented alien.
At least, now, I understand the rules.

Job growth every month, record stock high Dow and an increase in the GDP each quarter.
Signs of a "Trump Bump"?
Obamacare repel has failed, meaning Obama's health care plan is still the law of the land.
Congress has extended Obama's budget.
Tax reform hasn't even been formally proposed, and what we know of it makes it look doomed.
Janet Yellen, an Obama appointee, is still in charge of the Fed.
Ya, the economy is doing fine because everything of importance that Obama put in place has remained.
Ironically, the only way Trump can succeed on the economy, is to fail to achieve any legislative victories.

My Suggestion on Settling the NFL Dispute
I negotiate Union contracts for a living. here's my suggestion to settle the NFL dispute.
Reduce this problem to a labor-management negotiation. It is legal, under labor law, to negotiate a new work rule between the parties.
The players will be obliged to stand for the National Anthem for each game (the NBA has this work rule in effect currently, so it can be mandated by an agreement).
In return, the NFL agrees:
(1). To make a "good faith effort" to employ Colin Kapinack this season.
(2). To dedicate one week a season to Equality Awareness. The League will commit $100 Million dollars to charities that help in this awareness. The charities will be chosen by the parties (NFL and NFLPA).
(3). That one week a year (in 2017, it will be the week that Miami and Tampa play, which means there are no bye teams), the Battle Hymn of the Republic will be sung before each game that week, prior to the National Anthem. The American Flag will be a replica of the flag fought under by the Union Soldiers during the Civil War.
(4). The NFL, at its own expense, will run at least two public service, 30 second commercials during each game, approved by the union, promoting equality in the United States.
