louis c's JournalMy Question for Sean Spicer Today
Sean, the President recently referred to the Russian interference in the 2016 election as a "Hoax".
Why does the White House think General Flynn needs immunity from a "Hoax"?
When it Comes to Trump and his Associates, I'm Pro-Choice
They can choose the electric chair or the gas chamber for the crime of Treason.
P.S. I know there is no constitutional crime of Treason here, but aligning, facilitating and coordinating with a foreign advisory in a concerted effort to undermine the very foundation of the country, Democracy, certainly looks like a crime equal to what the Rosenberg's were executed for (espionage). In this case, there is far more evidence of wrong doing than the government had against the Rosenberg's.
Sorry, but working with Trump on key legislation would serve two purposes
This may not be popular, but think of it as strategic.
If Trump, the Democrats and moderate Republicans put through legislation that advances our causes, here's my prediction of what happens.
Specifically, let's look at infrastructure. We preserve Davis-Bacon (pro-union prevailing wage policy). We vote to spend $1 trillion over 10 years. We preserve the public sector ownership of roads, bridges, tunnels, etc. We have a deal.
Then we agree on tax reform that is weighted toward the middle-class. We work together to get a public option on health care and Trump insists that the Republican Governors accept the Medicare expansion that they have refused, up to now.
What's Trump's incentive? He gets "wins", which is all he wants. We get favorable legislation, while splitting his base.
Just like when Papa Bush made the tax deal with the Democrats, he was vilified by his own and lost the next election, this is a strategy that would be a twofer.
No one hates Trump more than I do, but we could lure him into the quick sand by playing to his own ego. "You can't win legislation without us."
How can somthing so simple be so confusing (Tump and the Russians)?
To me, it's simple.
Trump and his team were not under surveillance. Ever time a Trump surrogate or that asshole Spicer refer to news reports of Trump's campaign being quoted by our intelligence sources as evidence that they were under surveillance, I could scream.
Here's what I say to any nit-wit Trump supporter. "Do you think that Russian intelligence agents are under surveillance by the CIA (outside the United States) and the FBI (inside the United States)?" They always answer "yes" (after all no one is that stupid to say "no" . Then I ask, "If one of those Russian spies is in contact with a U.S. citizen, and that citizen conspires with that Russian agent to undermine the United States, and is caught in that surveillance, what should the United States government do, throw that information away?" When they answer "of course not". My answer is "that's exactly what happened to those assholes you supported. That's why they'll go to fucking jail. Now, let me hear you chant, lock them up!!!"
What laws has Donald Trump and his campaign associates broken?
Try this one on for size.
18 U.S. Code § 953 - Private correspondence with foreign governments
Current through Pub. L. 114-38. (See Public Laws for the current Congress.)
US Code
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.

Trumpcare cuts deficit by $300 Billion
There's the line the Conservative Republicans like to throw around. By the way, it's true, so let's see where it comes from.
The expansion of Medicaid in Obamacare increases the number of middle class families who could afford health care. The biggest reason that fewer people are insured on Obamacare than originally predicted is that 19 states controlled by Republicans refused the Medicaid expansion in an attempt to make the plan fail. Trumpcare cuts 800 Billion Medicaid dollars over 10 years. Those dollars are meant for seniors, the poor and the middle class. The greater number of beneficiaries of these dollars are the Trump voting demographics in rural counties and red states.

But why, then aren't the tax payers saving $800 billion on the deficit? It's because $500 Billion of those cuts are going to the very wealthiest Americans

So, finally, we get to the Repuke talking point, $300 Billion in deficit reduction over 10 years

So, the fucking assholes, fleecing all of us, including the stupid pieces of shit that voted for this asshole, lose $800 billon in subsidies for health care over 10 years, $500 Billion of it goes to the mother fuckers who don't need it, and Trump and the Repukes get to tout "Fiscal Responsibility" with the remaining $300 Billion.
They are not dumb. They think we are.
What the Fuck was the Russian Ambassador Doing at the Republican Convention ?
The Republican Convention. A number of Trump surrogates met with the Russian Ambassador at the Republican Convention in Cleveland. The only change to the Republican platform was to water down a platform plank that supplied arms to the nationalist in Crimea who were fighting the Russians.
What a fucking coincidence. Then, just before the Democratic Convention, there's a Russian inspired document dump that embarrasses the DNC and causes the chairwoman to resign.
What a fucking coincidence.
Let's put it this way. There is far more empirical and circumstantial evidence that the Trump campaign was in cahoots with Russia to undermine our free election process then there was that Raphael Cruz was involved in the JFK assassination, and Trump believed that.
