Foxconn is most known for its iPhone production. But it has also contracted with other major tech firms including Amazon's Kindle, Nintendo, Nokia, Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox.

But Foxconn also has a dismal record in terms of working conditions. In China, 18 workers in 2010 plunged from the tops of Foxconn buildings in protest, killing 14 and prompting the company to equip some of its facilities with safety nets. Two years later, 150 workers threatened to leap to their deaths in a mass suicide, but were coaxed down after spending three days atop the building.

Soupman of 'Seinfeld' Soup Nazi fame files for bankruptcy protection...

Soupman, the New York City food company made famous by the popular Seinfeld TV sitcom, has sought bankruptcy court protection, weeks after its chief financial officer was indicted on federal tax evasion charges.

Based on Staten Island, the company licenses the name and recipes of Al Yeganeh, the model for the gruff "Soup Nazi" character in the popular 1989-1998 series that starred comedian Jerry Seinfeld. The character focused fanatically on his culinary creations and refused to serve some would-be customers, barking what became a much-repeated catchphrase: "No soup for you!"

A Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition filed Tuesday in Delaware stated that Soupman had estimated assets between just over $1 million and $10 million, and estimated debts ranging from just over $10 million to $50 million.

The company said in a news release that it has secured a new $2 million debtor-in-possession credit facility from an independent private investment firm to fund working capital needs "and allow business operations to continue as usual."

this might be for the garden thread, but sometimes topics die there......

I've got this awesome thanksgiving cactus that is just thriving in a south window, I think I might have mentioned this plant previously.......Anyway, it has been blooming ALL this time since Thanksgiving. It actually bloomed twice and is now awash with new leaves. My question is how do I ever trim it.......it never stops with either blossomes or leaves?? Plant guides say to trim when not in a growth pattern. It's been in a grown pattern since last Thanksgiving!! What do you suggest??
