I love it. Mika and Joe are refusing to read dt's twits.

Apparently he's tweeting like mad this a.m., and they're shining him on. Perfect! That should piss him off even more.

Ranty grandpa calls in to Fox News, and it's so bad the host repeatedly tries to end the interview

Ranty grandpa calls in to Fox News, and it's so bad the host repeatedly tries to end the interview

Grandpa Rantypants called in to talk with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo this morning, and the “interview” was such a nonsensical rant that it was the verbal equivalent of the FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW: FW emails of yesteryear that you once got from your angry Tea Party uncle. In fact, it was so bad that Bartiromo repeatedly tried to put the audience out of its misery by ending the interview. But Grandpa Rantypants just kept going.

This is painful, but take a listen and then jump below for a bit more discussion.

Now that you’ve heard the insaneness of that interview, let’s take a brief look at the transcript, because it isn’t just Trump who is problematic here. Trump began shouting that people have been asking him to find out, “Where did all this corruption start?” He’s trying to flip the script. He’s the head of the most glaringly corrupt administration in U.S. history and he’s trying to paint the investigators, most of whom are lifelong Republicans, as corrupt. This is gaslighting.

But that isn’t the only troubling part. Read below and ask yourself: Why is Bartiromo going along with all of this? She’s nodding in agreement, verbally signaling agreement, while Trump is flat-out lying to the audience. This is not acceptable!

Trump EPA insists Monsanto's Roundup is safe, despite cancer cases

Trump EPA insists Monsanto's Roundup is safe, despite cancer cases
Administration to keep weedkiller on the market after landmark court rulings and concerns over food

The Trump administration is keeping the weedkiller Roundup on the US market, insisting it is safe for humans despite thousands of lawsuits launched by people who claim it gave them cancer.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) maintains in a new decision that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, which is made by Monsanto, does not cause cancer or other health problems if it is used according to labels.

Glyphosate is used on more than 100 crops, including genetically modified corn, soy, cotton, canola and sugar beet, according to the EPA. Groups campaigning against glyphosate say it is most dangerous for farmworkers and others applying it but also poses risks for people consuming it in food.

Courts have found in favor of a school groundskeeper who is terminally ill with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and another man who used the chemical for decades and developed the same kind of cancer.

International Association of Fire Fighters President Harold Schaitberger, whose union formally endorsed Biden on Monday morning, gave the rally’s first speech, where he made the argument explicitly. “He speaks to and connects with those workers who didn’t believe the last Democratic nominee heard about them, cared about them, and felt that their historic votes for the Democratic candidate were maybe just being taken for granted,” Schaitberger argued.

“In a field of good people putting themselves forward this primary season, the most important factor that we must determine in the Democratic nomination process is who can win,” Schaitberger continued in a barb that seemed targeted at Sanders, who has long described himself as a socialist. “Let me shoot straight with you, and this might not be popular in parts of the Democratic Party, but we…can’t have a nominee that’s too far left. It’s just that simple. A candidate that has high-minded ideals, maybe honorable ideas, but little chance of winning.”

Many attendees agreed. “I’m shopping,” Pat Martin-Carr, a retired school psychologist, said, explaining that she had yet to settle on a candidate. “I’m looking for who can win. I like some people, but it’s not about who I like. It’s about who can win…I don’t want someone too progressive.”

Brandon Groves, a 38-year-old social worker from nearby Wheeling, West Virginia, said that Biden was his “early favorite” of the 2020 candidates. “I’m not a big fan of Bernie,” Groves said, citing his position on restoring voting rights to felons. “I don’t like how far left the Democratic Party is going.”
