Trump Would Be Fired By Any Workplace In America For His Racist Rampage
Donald Trump remains in the White House on Tuesday after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to condemn his racism, but the presidency is likely one of the only jobs in America that he would be able to keep after spewing such racist garbage.
As MSNBCs Chris Hayes pointed out on Tuesday, The crazy thing is that condemnation from the House would be expected in basically any other workplace in America.
He added, If any one of us said to a coworker like in a meeting what the president said about those congresswomen, we would expect repercussions.

Hayes said:

If he held any other job in America and launched into the same racist tirade he recently directed at four U.S. congresswomen, he would likely be fired.
Unfortunately, Donald Trump happens to hold the only position in America that would tolerate such a fundamentally unstable and dangerous individual.

An attorney representing Jeffrey Epstein accusers said Tuesday that at least one woman has come forward to say she was abused while the financier was on work release as part of his lenient 2007 plea deal.
Lawyer Brad Edwards said Epstein was allowed to have visitors while he was supposed to be working during the 13-month sentence.
He just wasnt in jail. He only slept there. He was in his office most of the day and what I can tell you he had visitors, female visitors, Edwards said.
All I can say is more than one person that visited him, Edwards said, declining to provide more details because of ongoing litigation. They believed they were going there for something other than a sexual purpose.
"Once there, he used his perfect master manipulation to turn the situation into something sexual, Edwards said. Not one of the individuals was a prostitute. These were all people who at the time that wanted something. They came over under false pretenses and he manipulated them and now his attorneys have labeled them prostitutes.

Prosecutors unlikely to charge Trump Org executives, sources say

(CNN)A federal investigation into whether Trump Organization executives violated campaign-finance laws appears to be wrapping up without charges being filed, according to people familiar with the matter.
For months, federal prosecutors in New York have examined whether company officials broke the law, including in their effort to reimburse Michael Cohen for hush-money payments he made to women alleging affairs with his former boss, President Donald Trump.
In recent weeks, however, their investigation has quieted, the people familiar with the inquiry said, and prosecutors now don't appear poised to charge any Trump Organization executives in the probe that stemmed from the case against Cohen.
A spokesman for the Manhattan US Attorney's office declined to comment. An attorney for the Trump Organization declined to comment.
In January, one month after Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison, prosecutors requested interviews with executives at the company, CNN reported. But prosecutors never followed up on their initial request, people familiar with the matter said, and the interviews never took place.
Meanwhile, there has been no contact between the Manhattan US Attorney's office and officials at the Trump Organization in more than five months, one person familiar with the matter said.

Trump's Racism Is Not Blundering -- It Is Tactically Deliberate
Trumps Racism Is Not Blundering It Is Tactically Deliberate
Trump's racism is not an oops, it's a fascist strategy.

Donald Trump is a giant flapping racist and doesnt give a single damn if that bothers you. Given this reality, it is important to note that when Trump dispensed with all pretense and held a one-man Sunday morning Klan rally on Twitter, it was not a blunder on his part.
When he dug his heels in on Monday morning and said the women of color he insulted were the ones who owed an apology, it was not an oops.
When asked pointedly by reporters on Monday if he was bothered that white nationalists have been celebrating his outburst, Trump replied, It doesnt concern me because many people agree with me. And all Im saying, they want to leave, they can leave. It was not a mis-statement.

Trumps Sunday tirade fits the pattern he has been unspooling for years. He was deliberately terrible right out of the gate, and has grown incrementally worse with each passing day. None of this is accidental.
More than four years into the experience, Trump can now pull a stunt that would have obliterated any previous politicians career before sundown and get away with it, because its incrementally more of exactly what he has been doing since he rode that golden escalator into this elongated infamy we now endure.
This is part and parcel of creeping fascism. An instance of horrifying racism becomes merely expected from the president, and then he moves on to another one, and then another, and another after that. He and his administration are laboring to normalize the grotesque.

World Leaders Tear Trump To Shreds For Spewing '1950s Racism'

World Leaders Tear Trump To Shreds For Spewing 1950s Racism
Republicans might be silent in the wake of Donald Trumps new racist attacks on four congresswomen of color, but world leaders have quickly come together to denounce them.
According to The Washington Post, politicians from across the globe are slamming Trump for his 1950s racism.
British Prime Minister Theresa May might be just days away from leaving office, but she took time out of her day to criticize Trump.
Another British politician took to Twitter to condemn Trumps bigotry, calling it 1950s racism straight from the White House.

The mayor of London and one of Trumps most outspoken critics, Sadiq Khan, tore into Trump, too.
Trump is an international disgrace
From the UK and Canada to Germany and Belgium, the advanced world stepped up and condemned racism something the Republican Party here at home has shamefully failed to do.
No matter which party held the White House, the United States has historically been seen as the moral authority around the world a country that has strived to advocate for equality.
With a racist in the White House and a GOP unwilling to put country over party, the United States no longer has that authority, and other world leaders are stepping up to fill that moral leadership void.

Critics say it's among several measures giving Republicans an unfair advantage in Florida's elections next year.

Democrats are challenging a Florida law that ensures President Donald Trumps name appears at the top of the states 2020 election ballot, which they say gives him and fellow Republicans an unfair advantage in the vote.
The Democratic Party and civil rights groups in Florida are suing over a number of state laws meant to suppress the votes of people of color and give Republicans an edge in the state, which has had numerous whisker-close elections in its recent past.
This latest legal challenge, filed by Florida voters and several Democratic groups last year at U.S. District Court in Tallahassee, seeks to end a nearly 70-year-old law mandating that candidates belonging to the governors political party be listed first on the ballot. A four-day federal court trial began in the case on Monday.
Democrats argue that people sometimes decide their vote based on where a candidates name appears on the ballot, a phenomenon known as position bias.
Currently, Republican Party candidates routinely and without exception receive the advantage of position bias in Floridas partisan elections, the lawsuit continued. Because a Republican has held the position of Florida Governor for 20 years, this advantage has continued, unabated, for two decades.

Trump Bets on Racism

Republicans aware of their partys demographic challenges the party is increasingly dependent on older white voters, in a nation thats becoming increasingly diverse no doubt realize that Trump is making a risky electoral bet. But instead of pushing for a smarter strategy, most GOP leaders have effectively surrendered and accepted defeat.
Greg Sargent: Central to Trumps racism and more broadly to Trumpism writ large is not just the content of the racism itself. Its also that hes asserting the right to engage in public displays of racism without it being called out for what it is.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who once spoke out against President Donald Trumps racism, adopted an if-you-cant-beat-em-join-em philosophy on Monday, echoing the presidents racist attacks against progressive Democratic congresswomen of color.
Graham attacked Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) by name and others by association during a Fox News interview, claiming they were Communists who hate our own country.
Graham specifically criticized this crowd an apparent reference to Ocasio-Cortez and Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN). Trump had attacked the four lawmakers in a series of racist tweets over the weekend, suggesting the four should go back to their home countries to help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.
Three of the congresswomen were born in the United States. Omar immigrated here from Somalia as a child.
She added, Were the ones fighting for healthcare, edu, good jobs, & they got nothing.

David Frum: Trump Is Baiting Democrats

The president is trying to divide the House caucus and force it to fight the election on his terms. So far, its working.

David Frum

From the beginning, however, the no-impeachment strategy has faced one big obstacle: Trump himself. Its not that he wants to be impeached, exactlybut more that he cannot refrain from behaving so outrageously that he drives his opponents toward impeachment. He did it again this past weekend, tweeting at Progressive Democrat Congresswomen to go back to where they came from. The rage of Democratic indignation, always simmering, was immediately turned to boil.
snip//
Plan or no plan, though, Trump hit the Democratic Party at its point of vulnerability. He is driving it toward ever more radical outcomes: against the enforcement of immigration laws and for the acceptance of virtually all border crossers; against the bread-and-butter issues that will mobilize the voters the Democrats need and for the symbolic actions that will gratify the educated urban progressives who live in the safest Democratic districts in the country.
Pelosi has been right at every move of this game. She is working to replace Trump at the ballot box, and she is working as best she can from the House to avoid mistakes that will help him and hurt the eventual Democratic presidential nominee.
Most of Pelosis party may well know and agree that she is right. But knowing and doing are two very different things. Trump is determined to make it impossible for Democrats to act on Pelosis knowledgeto break the discipline Pelosi has imposed on her party and to empower the Democrats who want to win Twitter today, rather than win the White House in 2020.
Will Democrats be goaded? The 2020 outcome may turn on whether the Democratic House caucus can continue to emulate its leaders clarity of purpose and firmness of self-command.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on Monday promised to sue the Trump administration over a new rule that would end asylum protections for most migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.
"This new rule is patently unlawful and we will sue swiftly.
The Departments of Justice and Homeland Security announced a rule that would make asylum seekers who pass through another country before reaching the U.S. ineligible for asylum.
