PALM BAY, Fla. – The Brevard County Supervisor of Elections has temporarily closed the Palm Bay Administrative Office after election workers tested positive for coronavirus, officials said Friday.

Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott said the move was made out of an abundance of caution after consultation with the Department of Health. A news release from Scott’s office did not say how many workers tested positive.

Scott said voters did not have direct exposure with those who tested positive for COVID-19 because of safety measure at the polling place, including half-inch ballistic glass between workers and voters.

Early voting will continue at nine other sites. A complete list of Brevard’s early voting sites is available at VoteBrevard.gov.

Glenn Greenwald is resigning from The Intercept, the news site he co-founded in 2013 not long after his most prominent work, the publication of articles based on leaks from former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden.

In a lengthy letter of resignation published Thursday, Greenwald alleged his editors "censored" an article he wrote this week about former Vice President Joe Biden. He claimed that the editors were "refusing to publish it unless I remove all sections critical of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, the candidate vehemently supported by all New-York-based Intercept editors involved in this effort at suppression."

Greenwald also included the text of a separate resignation email he sent to Michael Bloom, the president of First Look Media, which owns The Intercept, and Betsy Reed, the editor in chief.

"The precipitating (but by no means only) cause is that The Intercept is attempting to censor my articles in violation of both my contract and fundamental principles of editorial freedom," Greenwald's email says.

A local judge and head of Duval County’s vote-counting board has donated repeatedly to President Trump’s re-election campaign and other Republican efforts, and his home is covered in signs supporting Trump, despite rules requiring judges like him to refrain from donations or public support.

Senior county Judge Brent Shore, who has refused to change rules barring the public from photographing or videotaping vote-counting meetings, first donated $20 in 2016 to Donald Trump’s initial campaign for president. He has donated 11 more times since then to Trump for a total of $170, as well as donating $178 in the last two years to the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

The Division of Elections has said while campaign donations don't count as active participation, “displaying a candidate's campaign signs” would disqualify someone from serving on a canvassing board.

If Shore doesn’t resign, another Division of Elections opinion said, removing him from the board “might ultimately require judicial resolution” through a lawsuit.

he city of Philadelphia is on high alert Thursday after authorities discovered a van filled with explosives and other suspicious cargo – including propane tanks, torches and possibly sticks of dynamite – on Wednesday night following two nights of protests and unrest after the shooting death of a Black man by police in West Philadelphia on Monday afternoon, according to ABC News’ Phildaelphia station WPVI.

It is unclear how authorities came to be aware of the vehicle containing the explosives or who the owner or operator of the vehicle is but the bomb squad is on the scene and investigating.

DeSantis was attempting to vote Monday at his assigned polling location around 2 p.m. when the poll worker advised him his address had been changed to 2185 Pretty Lane in West Palm Beach. DeSantis said he did not authorize a change in his address, and immediately contacted the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement to investigate.

FDLE contacted the supervisor of elections office in Leon County and requested the logs for the date and time the address change request came through for Ron DeSantis.

Authorities discovered the request was made using a computer with the IP address of [x.x.x.x], and subscribed to Comcast. They contacted Comcast who gave them the home address to which the IP was assigned.

A search warrant was conducted at the home in Naples where Anthony Steven Guevara was present with two others.

An FDLE digital forensic examiner searched through Guevara’s computer, where Google searches for “Florida my vote” and “Florida governor” were found. Evidence also showed Guevara accessed the site “DOS.MyFlorida.com,” and the Wikipedia page for Ron DeSantis.

But he was let off the hook to a large degree by the aftermath of the Dodgers’ 3-1 victory — whereby we learned not only that Justin Turner had been pulled from the game because of a positive Covid test but also watched him join the post-game celebration, post-diagnosis, including posing for a team picture and kissing his wife without his mask.

“I don’t think there was anyone that was going to stop him,” Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said after the game of Turner joining the celebration.

How stupid and thoughtless can a sport, an organization and a player be?

(Quick conspiracy theory aside: The Dodgers learned of Turner’s confirmed positive test in the sixth inning — the same inning in which Snell was mysteriously pulled. Now there’s a tiny piece of me that wonders if Commissioner Rob Manfred ordered the Code Red, telling the Rays to stand down given any comeback victory would have led to a delay of Game 7 and even more embarrassment for MLB).
