Mr. Fish Burns NRA To A Crisp
LOL!-How did Mitt Romney decide when to concede defeat? By watching Fox. And listening to Karl Rove.
Painfully hilarious:
The concession call was canceled, followed by an hour of uncertainty. Then, after Fox executives dismissed Roves concerns and stood by the networks projection, Romney said: Call the president.

Cleaning company hired by Walker Admin. is fired for damaging state Capitol
by Giles Goat Boy
The Wisconsin State Journal reported over the weekend that a private company hired by the Scott Walker administration to provide janitorial services in the state capitol building has been fired - for damaging the expensive marble floors in the building.

The damage appears to have occurred when a cleaning solution or other liquid leaked from a floor-scrubbing machine operated by the contractor, Marquis said.
Prior to the Walker administration, cleaning of the capitol facilities was performed by unionized state employees with years of expertise in cleaning and maintaining the unusual and delicate stones.
and more interesting stuff about WHO this company was here:

Casual Observation

Critiques of President Obama's negotiating style are certainly warranted, but the most boring thing in the world is the suggestion that the president is really a moderate Republican who wants to move the Democratic Party to the right and gut entitlements. We have control of half of Congress, and any suggestion that we can get 100% of what we want if only we are more inflexible is moronic. The only real debate is over what we are willing to give up, not whether or not we have to give anything up. So, progressives should put themselves in the shoes of a negotiator and ask themselves honestly what they are willing to sacrifice and what they want in return. This talk of rainbows and ponies needs to end.

Letter of Resignation Sent By Bush to NRA
Letter of Resignation Sent By Bush to Rifle Association
Published: May 11, 1995
Poppy Bushs 1995 letter of resignation from the NRA isnt getting nearly enough press these days. He specifically named Wayne LaPierre as the reason.
Following is the letter of resignation sent last week by former President George Bush to the National Rifle Association: May 3, 1995
I was outraged when, even in the wake of the Oklahoma City tragedy, Mr. Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of N.R.A., defended his attack on federal agents as jack-booted thugs. To attack Secret Service agents or A.T.F. people or any government law enforcement people as wearing Nazi bucket helmets and black storm trooper uniforms wanting to attack law abiding citizens is a vicious slander on good people.
Al Whicher, who served on my United States Secret Service detail when I was Vice President and President, was killed in Oklahoma City. He was no Nazi. He was a kind man, a loving parent, a man dedicated to serving his country and serve it well he did.
In 1993, I attended the wake for A.T.F. agent Steve Willis, another dedicated officer who did his duty. I can assure you that this honorable man, killed by weird cultists, was no Nazi.
John Magaw, who used to head the U.S.S.S. and now heads A.T.F., is one of the most principled, decent men I have ever known. He would be the last to condone the kind of illegal behavior your ugly letter charges. The same is true for the F.B.I.s able Director Louis Freeh. I appointed Mr. Freeh to the Federal Bench. His integrity and honor are beyond question.
Both John Magaw and Judge Freeh were in office when I was President. They both now serve in the current administration. They both have badges. Neither of them would ever give the governments go ahead to harass, intimidate, even murder law abiding citizens. (Your words)
I am a gun owner and an avid hunter. Over the years I have agreed with most of N.R.A.s objectives, particularly your educational and training efforts, and your fundamental stance in favor of owning guns.
However, your broadside against Federal agents deeply offends my own sense of decency and honor; and it offends my concept of service to country. It indirectly slanders a wide array of government law enforcement officials, who are out there, day and night, laying their lives on the line for all of us.
You have not repudiated Mr. LaPierres unwarranted attack. Therefore, I resign as a Life Member of N.R.A., said resignation to be effective upon your receipt of this letter. Please remove my name from your membership list.
Sincerely,
[ signed ] George Bush

Tagg Romney: Father wanted to be president less than anyone Ive met
By Meghashyam Mali - 12/23/12 09:45 AM ET
In an interview with the Boston Globe, GOP presidential contender Mitt Romneys son Tagg described his father as reluctant to run for the presidency and hesitant to reveal his personal side during the long campaign.
He wanted to be president less than anyone Ive met in my life. He had no desire to
run, said Tagg, according to the report.
If he could have found someone else to take his place . . . he would have been ecstatic to step aside, he continued. He is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them, but he has deep faith in God and he loves his country, but he doesnt love the attention.
According to the report, Romney was shaken by his 2008 failed bid to capture the GOP nomination and was wary of a second run. The former Massachusetts governor initially told family members he would not run again.

Obama Throws Boehner To The Wolves: "You Missed Your Opportunity"-&-“You get nothing”
When Boehner asked Obama if they agree on a deal along the same lines as the one he walked away from during the 2011 talks, according to the paper, Obama retorted: You missed your opportunity on that.
Obamas frustrations grew, and he told Boehner he would rail publicly against the Republicans in the absence of a reasonable compromise. As the Journal reports: Mr. Obama repeatedly lost patience with the speaker as negotiations faltered. In an Oval Office meeting last week, he told Mr. Boehner that if the sides didnt reach agreement, he would use his inaugural address and his State of the Union speech to tell the country the Republicans were at fault.
..............
At one point, according to notes taken by a participant, Mr. Boehner told the president, I put $800 billion in tax revenue on the table. What do I get for that?
You get nothing, the president said. I get that for free. Also during the talks, as Obama bristled over Boehners unwillingness to budge on rates, the paper reports that he snapped: Youre asking me to accept Mitt Romneys tax plan. Why would I do that?

Connecticut School Officials Blast NRAs Reaction To Newtown
By Igor Volsky on Dec 22, 2012 at 10:43 am
Teachers, school superintendents, mayors and police chiefs in Connecticut are rejecting the National Rifle Associations (NRA) response to the shooting in Newtown, describing the gun lobbys proposal to equip schools with armed guards and more guns as too simplistic, shameful, and opportunistic.
One Connecticut school superintendent dismissed the NRAs suggestion as an ill-conceived reaction from an organization that does not have any credibility or expertise with respect to addressing school violence and said that the idea is an excuse for not addressing the need to enact meaningful safe gun legislation in conjunction with an investment in mental health services. Putnam Police Chief Rick Hayes called the proposal scary, noting that teachers cant possibly have the kind of training necessary to safely handle large weapons.
In fact, newspaper headlines across the state flatly rejected militarizing Connecticut schools:
