Judge wants US to protect Trump associate's secret history

WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. judge is urging the Obama administration to protect from public disclosure federal court records related to the once-secret criminal history of a former Donald Trump business partner.

In a highly unusual order prompted by The Associated Press, U.S. District Judge Brian M. Cogan said that unless the Justice Department acts before April 18, he will decide whether to make the court files public under the assumption that federal prosecutors don't care.

The case involves Felix Sater, a Trump business associate who had pleaded guilty in a major Mafia-linked stock fraud scheme and cooperated with the government. The AP reported in December that, even after learning about Sater's background, Trump tapped Sater for a business development role in 2010 that included the title of senior adviser to Trump. Sater received Trump Organization business cards and was given an office within the Trump Organization's headquarters, on the same floor as Trump's own.

"It seems to me that the government has a unique interest in keeping documents that relate to cooperation agreements under seal," the judge wrote in his order. "The government should speak and assert its position as to whether the public's right to access each document in the record is outweighed by a compelling need for secrecy."

New Zealand 'cat burglar' caught stealing men's underwear

A nocturnal "cat burglar" has been stealing dozens of socks and men's underwear in New Zealand.

In two months, six-year-old Tonkinese cat Brigit from Hamilton city brought back 11 pairs of underpants and more than 50 socks.

Her owner, Sarah Nathan, has documented her feline's strange obsession on a widely shared Facebook post.

"Now it's getting silly. Someone must be missing this stuff," she said in a post shared close to 500 times.

Ms Nathan told the BBC that the trouble first began when she started discovering "odd pieces" of underwear among her washing.

Poll: Over half want to punch Trump in the face

More than half of Americans, 54 percent, want to give GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump a "pop in the kisser," according to a new online poll.

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton ranks second in the WalletHub/Survey Monkey poll released Monday with 14 percent.

President Obama is a close third with 13 percent, while a generic "Congressman” takes fourth place on the list with 12 percent.

Schwarzenegger walks out of interview when asked about Trump

Arnold Schwarzenegger walked out of an interview on Saturday, after he was asked about Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“This is an interview that I only do about fitness and health, not about politics or my relationships,”

Schwarzenegger told Australia’s "Weekend Sunrise" before walking out of the interview.
Schwarzenegger was in Australia to promote his branded fitness events.

The former California governor, who recently endorsed Ohio Gov. John Kasich in the GOP primary, is set to take over Trump’s role as host of “Celebrity Apprentice.”

Schwarzenegger’s team told the New York Post he didn’t “storm out” of the interview, but rather that it ran over time.
