A Rant From Daily Kos: "Seriously I HAVE HAD ENOUGH WITH MOVING GOAL POSTS"

WED SEP 30, 2015 AT 09:45 PM PDT
Seriously I HAVE HAD ENOUGH WITH MOVING GOAL POSTS!
byChaoslillithFollow

People have sworn up and down one or all of the following since Bernie announced.

"He's a socialist he won't get any traction."
"He won't get above 30% anywhere won't even win a single state."
"He won't raise enough money."
"He's not electable."
"He's not a serious candidate."

Well people (AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) you have been proven wrong. He just about tied Hillary's high powered, rich ass people, super pac fundraising campaign and EVERY LAST CENT CAME FROM US! THE PEOPLE!

He is kicking her ass in New Hampshire, catching up in Iowa and consistently gaining ground across the country. WITH NOT A SINGLE FUCKING AD AIRED!!

He is attracting the youth vote, and a lot of pissed off Independents and moderate Republicans as well.

He is doing as well or better than her against EVERY DAMN REPUBLICAN OUT THERE.

Alabama sends message: We are too broke to care about Civil Rights/Voting Rights

Take a look at the 10 Alabama counties with the highest percentage of non-white registered voters. That's Macon, Greene, Sumter, Lowndes, Bullock, Perry, Wilcox, Dallas, Hale, and Montgomery, according to the Alabama Secretary of State's office. Alabama, thanks to its budgetary insanity and inanity, just opted to close driver license bureaus in eight of them. All but Dallas and Montgomery will be closed.

Closed. In a state in which driver licenses or special photo IDs are a requirement for voting.

It's not just a civil rights violation. It is not just a public relations nightmare. It is not just an invitation for worldwide scorn and an alarm bell to the Justice Department. It is an affront to the very notion of justice in a nation where one man one vote is as precious as oxygen. It is a slap in the face to all who believe the stuff we teach the kids about how all are created equal.

Every single county in which blacks make up more than 75 percent of registered voters will see their driver license office closed. Every one.

O"Reilly (Really): "Fetal Tissue From Aborted Babies Can Be Used For Good"

BILL O'REILLY (HOST): All right, so now the congresswoman says that fetal tissue, the selling of body parts by Planned Parenthood, has wiped out measles and everything else. What is the truth?

ERIC SHAWN: Well, fetal tissue research has saved millions of lives, Bill. Look at polio, 1954. That vaccine was created through a kidney cell from a fetus. You've got the vaccines now, chicken pox, rubella - that's German measles, hepatitis, shingles, rabies, are all from fetal tissue research. Those from two aborted fetuses in the 1960s, they've grown the cell lines since then. But the scientists say a lot of research now on Parkinson's, spinal cords, ALS, Alzheimer's, Down syndrome, degenerative eye disease, and the Ebola vaccine that was created this year, all came from and are being researched by using fetal tissue. They say it's really invaluable.

O'REILLY: All right, so, there is a point that you say fetal tissue from aborted babies can be used for good. That's true.

SHAWN: That's correct. Yes, yes, absolutely. Yes.

O'REILLY: OK. So it's all a matter of regulating the situation and making sure that it isn't abused or isn't used for -- it all goes into this good research. And I think that's what everybody is wanting to see.

President Jimmy Carter will join 1,500 volunteers in Nepal for Habitat for Humanity

President Jimmy Carter will join 1,500 volunteers in Nepal for Habitat for Humanity’s 32nd annual Carter Work Project

ATLANTA (Sept. 29, 2015) President Jimmy Carter recently received consent from his medical team to travel to Nepal for Habitat for Humanity’s 32nd annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. The build will take place Nov. 1-6 in the Chitwan district, which is located 160 kilometers (100 miles) west of the capital, Kathmandu.

“Since Rosalynn and I first volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in 1984, we’ve never missed a single year,” said President Carter. “I am grateful that we can join with other volunteers in November and continue to help shed light on the critical need to address inadequate housing around the world.”

During the week, 1,500 volunteers from within Nepal and around the world will help build permanent homes in partnership with low-income families in the Nayabasti Gairigaun village. A majority of these families are Dalits, who are considered the lowest group in the Nepali caste system. Many work as construction laborers, farmers or garbage collectors, or work at a nearby poultry farm, earning US$5 to US$7 a day.

For more than three decades, President and Mrs. Carter have given a week of their time annually to help Habitat build and repair houses while raising awareness of the critical need for affordable housing. During the previous 31 projects, more than 92,000 volunteers have built, renovated and repaired 3,943 homes in 14 countries.
