Karen Hughes: "College Age Daughters Of Friends Voted For Obama" - Turned Off By NEANDERTHAL GOP

"And if another Republican man says anything about rape other
than it is a horrific, violent crime, I want to personally cut out his
tongue. The college-age daughters of many of my friends voted for Obama
because they were completely turned off by Neanderthal comments like the
suggestion of “legitimate rape.”"

Akin adviser: Karl Rove super-PAC 'a colossal failure'

Source: St Louis Post & Dispatch

Add Rick Tyler, spokesman and key adviser to Rep. Todd Akin, to the list of Rove critics. Tyler is a Newt Gingrich ally and political strategist who journeyed to Missouri in late August to assist Akin's ill-fated campaign for the Senate.

"They lost every race. It was a colossal failure," Tyler said of Rove's political entities. "They went out with their power points and convinced people to give money, but it was as pathetic a performance as I've ever seen."

SPINE! President Obama Will Let ALL the Bush Tax Cuts Expire......if he doesn't get what he wants.

This from Jake Tapper:

White House officials insist that they're confident that a deal will be struck. One top Obama adviser, however, told ABC News that if the House GOP refuses to cut a deal with the president that includes some tax increases on the wealthy, the tax cuts will expire. One scenario the official discussed included the president barn-storming the country, telling the public that Democrats will put forward a bill to restore middle class tax cuts as soon as Congress convenes, and calling on them to pressure Republican congressional leaders to stop holding those tax cuts hostage in exchange for tax cuts for wealthier Americans.

Judge denies West's motion to impound voting machines, ballots in Palm Beach County

Source: TC Palm

Circuit Court Judge David F. Crow denied Allen West's motion for injunction to impound voting machines and paper ballots in Palm Beach County.

Crow said West's motion "fell woefully short of what's required" and said the Legislature is in charge of election laws, while the courts are meant to interpret them.

Crow said there was no evidence any statute had been breached.

A row of lawyers representing Patrick Murphy, West and the Palm Beach County supervisor of elections were on hand.

Obama To House: "I've got this pen. I'm ready to sign the bill right away."

Delivering a statement on the economy on Friday, President Obama urged Congress to extend Bush-era tax cuts on the middle class "right now," while talks on a broader deficit reduction package continue with top Republicans.

"If Congress fails to make an agreement...everybody's taxes will automatically go up on January 1st," Obama said.

"All we need is action from the House," Obama added. "I've got the pen. I'm ready to sign the bill right away."

The GOP Must Choose: Rush Limbaugh or Minority Voters

—Conor Friedersdorf: The GOP Must Choose: Rush Limbaugh or Minority Voters, November 9, 2012

1) Stop saying things like, "Why doesn't the Republican Party get credit for Condoleezza Rice?"

2) Stop the shameless race-baiting, like telling listeners, "Obama's America, white kids getting beat up on school buses now. You put your kids on a school bus, you expect safety but in Obama's America the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering, 'Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on,' and, of course, everybody says the white kid deserved it, he was born a racist, he's white."

3) Understand that when you commission a song called "Barack the Magic Negro" for your radio show, the average black person is going to take offense. And that if you pretend to be surprised when they do take offense, no one will believe you.

................................

It would still be prudent for conservatives to take some advice that seems blindingly obvious, but apparently isn't: Stop letting prominent voices of movement conservatism get away with saying things that are a) actually just racist; b) demagogic race-baiting; or c) so obviously tone-deaf that anyone with common sense can see how terrible it would sound.

Sheldon Adelson bet against the American people — and lost.

The biggest single donor in political history, the casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson, mingled with other Romney backers at a postelection breakfast, fresh off a large gamble gone bad. Of the eight candidates he supported with tens of millions of dollars in contributions to “super PACs,” none were victorious on Tuesday.

Rasmussen Poll: 68 Percent Of American Voters See Global Warming As A ‘Serious Problem’
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/environment_energy/energy_update
By Stephen Lacey on Nov 9, 2012 at 11:25 am

Polls have consistently shown that Americans’ understanding of global warming grows with an increase in extreme weather events. In the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, that number continues to grow.

According to a new Rasmussen poll conducted a day before the election and released this morning, 68 percent of American voters said that global warming is either a “very serious” or “somewhat serious” problem. This represents a major increase over the last few years. In 2009, Rasmussen reported that only 46 percent of Americans believed that global warming is a problem.

The Rasmussen poll backs up others showing an increase in awareness of the problem. An October poll from George Mason University and the Yale Project on Climate Change Communication showed that 74 percent of Americans understand that “global warming is affecting weather in the United States” — an increase of 5 points from a March 2012 survey. The Yale/George Mason poll also found that a majority of respondents said global warming made the summer heat wave and Midwest drought worse.
