steve2470's JournalDebian package depicts 'Tux the penguin' with sheep in intimate ASCII
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/11/21/offensive_debian_package_depicting_bestiality_installed_automatically/Regardless, several users took issue that the artwork existed in the first place. One Debian user The Register contacted suggested creating a third package for it, while others called for a more clear tag such as "-obscene" or "-offensive".
Myles Jackman, a London lawyer specialising in obscenity cases, told El Reg that compositions or line drawings of bestiality are not illegal in the UK, as long as humans that appear under the age of 18 are not depicted. He said laws might vary from country to country.
Debian user Bosel Stefan told The Register: "I think this issue should not be blown out of proportion and I am confident the Debian team will find the right solution."
The "penguin1" part is a footnote #1.
Did you know, some colleges require that you can swim to graduate ?
Historically, many colleges in the United States required that you demonstrate the ability to swim (since it was considered a necessary life skill) before graduating. While the tradition has waned, there are still schools, such as MIT and Cornell University, that require students to demonstrate swimming proficiency.

my grumble for the day: banking transfers
I have my credit card and checking account at the SAME credit union. You click a few times and voila, you pay your credit card bill. Extremely convenient. The only thing is, the payment does not show up for around 48 hours. Huh?
This has annoyed me for decades, but it's standard procedure it seems. You get annoyed too ?
Otherwise, life is fairly grand. My arm is healing up and my prostate is "happy"
Hope your day is grand also, my friends
Don't believe Roy Moore's accusers? Then listen to Moore
http://www.al.com/opinion/index.ssf/2017/11/you_dont_have_to_believe_the_w.htmlFirst, read his book. In it, Moore describes how he met his wife at a Christmas party hosted by friends. He would have been 37. She was 23.
"Many years before, I had attended a dance recital at Gadsden State Junior College," Moore wrote. "I remembered one of the special dances performed by a young woman whose first and last names began with the letter 'K.' It was something I had never forgotten. Could that young woman have been Kayla Kisor?"
snip
It's a simple matter of subtraction. When Roy Moore first took notice of Kayla she would have been as young as 15.
Ewwwww.
Bulldog Tries to Save Leonardo DiCaprio From a Bear Attack While Watching The Revenant
https://laughingsquid.com/bulldog-tries-to-save-leonardo-dicaprio-from-bear-attack/While sitting on the floor in front of television, the sweetly concerned English bulldog named Khaleesi, who tried to warn a girl she was not safe in the 2015 gothic romance film Crimson Peak, did her very best to save Leonardo DiCaprio from a bear attack in the film The Revenant. According to her human, Khaleesi really adores Leo.
last (hopefully) chapter in my prostate saga
*cue stentorian announcer voice* Last time, steve2470 was referred to a urologist to rule out prostate cancer. Let's see what happened..... voice trails off
ok, in all seriousness now
1- The urologist said my prostate was "tiny for your age" (his exact words), so no enlargement
2- He said, given his expert fingers, he could detect nothing at all
3- He was very impressed with my 0.6 PSA test
4- He knows about my ultrasound coming back negative
5- I made sure he knew that my PCP was concerned about possible nodularity
6- He looked at me and said "you look disappointed" (because he wasn't going to order a needle biopsy)
7- He wants to see me back in 6 months and for me to do another PSA a week before I come in.
So, there you have it. This urologist was the #1 choice of my PCP. Color me a bit shocked but also pleased.
Hopefully you other guys have equal luck to me!
For you cat-lovers/owners/ailurophiles, is this a real photo or photoshopped ?
https://twitter.com/WZorNET/status/932490108946862080not rah rah but meh the Republicans are going to tear down Joe anyway
I'll just be silent about his shortcomings and vote for him. If he was a hard-core racist back then, I probably wouldn't vote for him.
The loophole in the ToS allows for our RW "friends" and Russian troll-bots to come in here freely. So be it. It's Skinner's place.
Let's talk Senator Menendez of NJ. I do not rah-rah for him but he's all over the news media. I never see Senator Menendez covered here. No point to it, the Republicans tear him down, the MSM does their job (adequately or not), and any decent Democrat has to make up his or her mind whether to support him or not.
I know you're a good Democrat (or you at least vote for them), so I never worry about your comments.
A Fascinating Look Inside the First Flat Earth International Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina
https://laughingsquid.com/flat-earth-international-conference/BBC News travelled to Raleigh, North Carolina, the site of the very first Flat Earth International Conference and speak with the attendees in order to learn why they believe that the world is flat, despite scientific evidence stating otherwise.
The Flat Earth International Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, attracted hundreds of attendees who believe the shape of the Earth is a disc instead of a sphere.
In 2014, VSauce addressed whether the Earth is round or flat.
ever spilled hot liquid on your arm and got a 2nd degree burn ?
My first time tonight. Very red and even purplish in spots. Some skin peeled off when I was drying my arm off.
I don't have a really big bandage but I put antibiotic salve all over it. Ouch.
I think it's second degree from this source: https://www.webmd.com/pain-management/guide/pain-caused-by-burns
