Freedom

And then:

I wrote this on fb today

I’ve been thinking about the changes this time might bring

Maybe we learn that we don’t need so many things

Maybe we learn it’s important to make the things we need close by

Maybe we learn to take care of each other and our earth

Maybe we cook and garden more, and get out to experience nature

I hope we take to heart how important it is to have health care and a functioning government

I'm a middle aged white woman born and raised in California

I was Bernie in 2016 for the ideas

Of course I voted for Hillary in the general and was pissed at how she got screwed. I was also thrilled to finally have a woman to vote for that office.

My feeling this time was that I’m tired of old white men being in charge and I wanted a woman.

The double standard applied to our female candidates infuriates me. My own father told me Kamala was too angry. I had to explain to him that she’s tough and women our age had to be to get a little respect in this old man’s world.

I love Kamala when she’s kicking ass but my heart belonged to Warren and I voted for her even though it was clear she wasn’t going to win.

Now I lean Biden because I think he’s a much better manager and that’s what we’re going to need.

My 37 cents, I don’t think I’m alone here...

I voted for Warren last week

So I don’t feel pressed to make a decision but...

I surprise myself by leaning Biden now when I prefer the ideas of the further left.

The reason is simply that I think he will be a better administrator and has a head start on repairing our relationships around the world.

I’m a pragmatist who also wants an important role for Liz and her plans, please...

That's before my time but...

I remember vividly 2004 when John Kerry was boring and long winded with his complicated ideas. I loved that about him and still do, as my choice below indicates

We were devastated in 2004, let’s remember that one too

Dramatically Mathematically Incorrect

Is what Rachel said on Thursday.
I had to run it back and take note.

I love her when she’s containing anger.

Anyone else interested in building with shipping containers?

Our 15 year plan includes retirement and finding a couple acres to build our home with chickens, dogs and serious gardening

I’ve started making sketches for a 3 container camp we can live in for a few years and then later Airbnb.

Has anyone done anything like this?

More:

Incentives for hospitals to go non profit

Amend the ACA to allow people to switch to the PO even if they have other access

A Dem Administration will of course support health care expansion rather than using public resources to fight it in court

I think MFA is the end goal

It seems to be a political loser right now though

I would start with a strong public option aka buy in to Medicare and a strong push on pharmaceutical costs.

Those two would put downward pressure on all premiums and eventually the private companies won’t even want to compete anymore

And there you have it...

Can I say something about health care?

The policy of whoever we nominate really doesn’t matter.

The whole thing will have to be hashed out in Congress anyway.

The important thing is they’re all headed in the right direction.

This is a debate for next year. It’s pointless right now.
