According to law, former President Donald Trump can be elected president if indicted -- or even convicted -- in any of the state and federal investigations he is currently facing, experts tell ABC News. But there are practical reasons that could make it a challenge, experts say.
Trump said over the weekend at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that he would "absolutely" stay in the race for president even if he were to be criminally indicted.
"I wouldn't even think about leaving," Trump told reporters ahead of his speech on Saturday. "Probably it will enhance my numbers."

The RESTRICT Act would empower the Commerce Secretary to mitigate "undue or unacceptable risk" to national security posed by technology transactions in which foreign adversaries have an interest.
