Observers might conclude (as a portion of the public already has) that Jade Helm 15 is likely a means to acclimate Americans for martial law. Since September 11, 2001 US citizens have experienced a steady erosion of their civil liberties associated with the dubious rationale of the “War On Terror.” The increased militarization of law enforcement and now operations like Jade Helm 15 being carried out on domestic soil further indicate how the Posse Comitatus Act, introduced in 1878 and intended to prevent the federal government from using the military for domestic law enforcement, is being steadily erased.

Chris Matthews explodes at MSNBC: Quit putting ‘goddamn’ right-wing ads on for free

MSNBC host Chris Matthews lit into his own network on Tuesday, denouncing it for playing commercials paid for by “piggish” conservative groups, Talking Points Memo reported.

“The cloth-coat regular Republican voters who send their kids to war are not the ones who pay for these ads. They’re totally different people,” Matthews told colleague Thomas Roberts, after Roberts played an ad paid for by the Foundation for a Secure and Prosperous America on his show. “The ones who send their kids to war and come home maimed and wondering what the hell they were doing it for, those people are not impressed by these goddamn ads.”

A lesson for Democrats: Zappa easily debates the rabidly sick minds of two Republicans.

After watching a short clip of Frank Zappa's appearance on CNN's "Crossfire," and I couldn't help but notice how wacky the conservative panelist were in comparison. Remember, this was way back in a less radicalized time for Republicans, 1986. So I went out and found the whole clip. Wow! The show at first focused on Zappa's lyrics, but quickly moved into politics, and a debate I won't soon forget.

Progressives, liberals and Democrats would be wise to see how easily Zappa handled these guys. Zappa never once bought into their silly narratives and false premises. Instead he made them look like the brutally dictatorial and controlling Republicans they really are. Zappa was right in accusing them of pushing a fascist and theocratic agenda.

Seriously, it's a fast 20 minutes. Zappa never got angry, he just let Washington Times columnist John Lofton (you won't believe this clown) and Robert Novak (with his snide grinning gotcha's) look like controlling megalomaniacal fools.

A San Francisco Catholic church has reportedly installed a “watering system” that discourages homeless people by drenching them as they sleep.

Cathedral staff confirmed that the system had been in place for about a year, and that it was intended to discourage homeless people from seeking shelter in the church’s doorway.

“We do the best we can, and supporting the dignity of each person,” Archdiocese spokesperson Chris Lyford said. “But there is only so much you can do.”
