Christmas carols -- with a twist

To the tune of "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer":
Chaz Bono got turned into a man, dear.
Dancin' with a woman on TV.
You might say there's no such thing as Santa
Till you see what Chaz got 'neath his tree.
Chastity was once a cute girl
On her parents' TV show.
Then she stunned the whole dang nation,
When she said her girl parts had to go.
Now transgenders in the Bay State
Have a law that's etched in black.
It says they can change their gender.
Then if they want, they can change it back.

Two strikes: Brockton Rox miss lease payment, don’t renew liquor license
BROCKTON
In two developments that could signal the demise of the team, the Brockton Rox were able to muster Thursday just a portion of their lease payment due to the Brockton 21st Century Economic Development Corp. and failed to renew its liquor license with the city.
The team this week paid just $15,000 of the $125,000 payment due to the B-21 corporation, the teams landlord, according to city Chief Financial Control Officer John Condon.
Condon said the action triggered a so-called letter of credit agreement Thursday, whereby Can-Am League Commissioner Miles Wolff ended up providing the full payment to the city. The Rox has been a member of this independent league since 2005.
Also on Thursday, Rox CEO Chris Carminucci told The Enterprise that the team did not renew the stadiums liquor license for cash flow reasons. Cost of renewal is $2,700.

Shaking the Tree: First Arrest Made in Investigation of Scott Walker Aides
The secret probe into Walkers current and former aides as Milwaukee County Executive and governor of Wisconsin has taken another dramatic turn with the arrest of Andrew P Jensen Jr, a commercial real estate broker with Boerke Co, who was behind bars last night for refusing to cooperate in the John Doe investigation, with charges pending.
This is the first arrest in the year long investigation into the potentially illegal campaign practices related to Walkers 2010 gubernatorial race. Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm is leading the investigation, and he has two successful prosecutions of Democrats under his belt already (they are in jail).
<snip>
While the investigation is secret, the names of those granted immunity are made public. Cullen Werwie, who worked on Walkers campaign and is his current spokesman, Republican operative Roseann Dieck, and Wisconsin and Southern Railroad spokesman Ken Lucht were given immunity to testify in the probe.
Granting immunity to as many as three witnesses and going after witnesses who wont cooperate is an indication that investigators are shaking the tree in order to get the evidence they need to go after the big fish.

The Chaplaincy exists to serve the needs of the troops.
If you're at a base, and there are no Catholic chaplains available, then the Presbyterian chaplain is expected to perform the Catholic mass for his troops, without complaint.
And during a time of war when there is a draft, many chaplains are serving under a Conscientious Objector status. This means that they have agreed to serve as chaplains in exchange for not having to fight. In my personal opinion, a chaplain who refuses to serve the needs of all their constituents should lose their non-combat status, or be charged with dereliction of duty.
While this is a decent compromise, I think it compromises too much.
Chaplains should only be allowed to refuse to perform a wedding if there is another chaplain available to perform it. If a gay wedding is forbidden by their denomination, then they should perform the wedding as a non-denominational service.
There should be no room for "personal objections" on the taxpayer's dime, especially when it comes to serving the needs of those who put themselves in harm's way.
Why don't we consider some alternatives to The Salvation Army?
