August 13, 2011: Gov. Rick Perry announces his candidacy for president. Cue media frenzy and hundreds of screaming teen girls.
January 19, 2012: Unable to make a respectable showing in Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina, Perry drops out and endorses Newt Gingrich. Tells supporters that he has just begun to fight.
It was all over before it started. When Rick Perry bounded onto the national stage as the consummate politician who had never lost a race, who had never known what it was like to have to fight, he was already being feted in the state and national media as the all-but-certain Republican nominee. He was being called the next Ronald Reagan -- the next best thing to being called Jesus Christ Superstar, if not a little better. But with his trademark Texas bravado and über-masculine swagger, Perry quickly became a caricature of himself. Someone who could throw out a few zingers but couldn't back them up with any sort of substance. Someone not to be taken seriously. It turned out that the problem wasn't underestimating him. It was overestimating him.
By kicking off his campaign with a much-publicized and over-the-top prayer rally, not to mention more than one day of "prayer and fasting," Perry had made a conscious choice -- and perhaps a fatal tactical error -- to align himself with evangelical conservatives, thereby placing his candidacy squarely in their hands. Perry, a self-proclaimed ''prophet,'' talked constantly about his faith and boasted that he was "called by God" to enter the race in between citing biblical verses by heart. There's a thin line between "religious" and "sanctimonious," one that Perry managed to cross again and again. All of a sudden he found himself trailing a Mormon and two Catholics, something that Perry and his advisers clearly never anticipated.
There's nothing inherently wrong with running as an avowed Christian conservative, as long as there's no automatic assumption that those voters are sheep who will follow you to the ends of the earth. Sure, evangelicals want someone who shares their beliefs, but they also want someone who can, you know, win. It must have stung when just days ago evangelical leaders held a meeting right in Perry's own backyard and decided as a group to back Rick Santorum as the true conservative alternative.

China's largest freshwater lake has been reduced to its lowest level in six decades. Water authorities in eastern Jiangxi Province say Poyang Lake is now at less than half its average size. Experts blame drought and human factors for the decline.
The water level at China's largest freshwater lake has dropped to a 60-year low, state-run media reported last week. The decline is damaging local ecology, and affecting the water supply to more than 120-thousand people.
Currently, the size of Poyang Lake in eastern Jiangxi province is less than half its average, at just 73 square miles. The water level is at 26 feet—the lowest in six decades. State-run Xinhua News Agency says the decline is a result of falling water levels in rivers feeding into the lake, due to prolonged drought.
Hydrogeologist professor Fan Xiao says the Three Gorges Dam has worsened seasonal drought in the area. The massive dam along China's longest Yangtze River is one of the Chinese regime's most prized infrastructures.
{Professor Fan Xiao, Hydrogeologist}:
"Right now the water flow in the Yangtze River is less. The Three Gorges Dam cuts off more than half the flow, and this has resulted in a severe drop in water levels in the Poyang Lake, as well as the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. This is why seasonal drought has happened along the Yangtze River ever since the Three Gorges Dam began to store water."
Local experts say construction projects along Poyang Lake have also contributed to its decline. Parts of the lake have been filled to create room for some projects, although local authorities say that practice is illegal.
The falling water level has hurt local fishermen, with parts of the lake now too dry to carry fishing boats. The dry spell has also diminished the number of fish, reducing the food available for the half-million migratory birds that travel to Poyang Lake every year.

Of course {smacks head}. It was the suicide/accident scenario what done him in. How could I have not seen it?
Now let's see here.... he had just come from one his "anti-nuclear lectures" and was likely all hopped up about it and needed to let off some steam. So he says: "I know, I'll go kill some crows!"
So then he drives to his farm and starts shooting at the crows right from the front seat of his car! With the steering wheel and everything right there in front of him. Why, you ask? Because lets face it, the only REAL way to kill crows is shooting them from the front seat of your car. Amirite?
So anyway, and then he somehow gets the gun mixed up and turned around there (these liberal lecturers don't know beans about guns, ya see?), and the next thing you know he done shot himself. Don't you hate when that happens? I know, I know what some of you are thinking: "but that would mean he'd have a wound in his shoulder!"
And you'd normally be right. But he was trying to make his suicide look phony just to get back at the Atomic Energy Commission from the grave. It's true! So, of course the old fossil had to make it all look phony. See? To help him and them hippie friends of his who hate nuclear energy! And America.

According to police, he had his chest shot and a shotgun (113 cm long, over-under) was put outside of the car. Around 10:30 AM 1/3/2012, he went out for his farm to keep the crows away with his gun. He went by himself. Police assumes it was suicide or a gun accident.
Mr.Uemura was elected in 1990 for the first time. He acted against the construction of Ashihama nuclear plan of Chubu Electric Power. After the Fukushima accident, he traveled around in Japan to give lectures against nuclear.

The positive side of this economic meltdown is that it is releasing all this pent-up creativity we have inside of us. Creativity that has just been waiting for its chance to express itself. TPTB don't know what they've unleashed. They have managed to unchain many of us from the idea that not only can the paradigm be shifted, but that the paradigm must be shifted.
