NRA Calls For Protest of Obama Visit Tomorrow

Tomorrow, April 3, President Obama and Governor Hickenlooper will be promoting gun control at the Police Academy in Denver beginning at 2:30 pm. We ask all Second Amendment supporters to join the NRA in protesting this event, and to stand and fight for the Second Amendment.

Although this event is closed to the public, we are asking that you attend and protest this event in Denver and respectfully let President Obama and Governor Hickenlooper know that you are strongly opposed to their anti-gun agenda. Take a stand for the Second Amendment and let your voice be heard tomorrow.

Flag burning?

"If you're going to burn the flag make sure you're wrapped in it first"

That was the bumper sticker on the car parked next to mine at the grocery store. I'd spotted that car as I headed for the parking lot, noting its rarity in sporting more bumper stickers than my own liberally (literally) bumperstickered vehicle.

Sometimes those seemingly silly stickers can instigate good conversation, and I considered dawdling a bit to see if that might happen; I was thinking to mention that my two friends who have actually burned flags did so as members of the American Legion.

It took but a moment's perusal of the other bumper stickers to change my mind about sticking around. Every other sticker on that car, about twenty of them, proclaimed proud NRA membership. Loudly. Something told me to go home and put the groceries away, instead. And for once I listened.

Universal plan would slash health care costs in Colorado

State Sen. Irene Aguilar wants Coloradans to imagine a day when 80 percent of them see their health care costs drop.

She says the wildly different health care system she envisions can make that happen — largely by eliminating much of what health insurance companies do, and by purchasing everyone’s medications in bulk.

The Denver doctor and Democrat is proposing that Colorado throw out the impending reforms know as Obamacare – which is permitted if the state comes up with a better plan. This week Aguilar introduced a resolution to ask Colorado voters to create a universal health care system for the state.

When I heard Dr. Ben Carson, ostensibly a brilliant pediatric neuro-surgeon, opine bizarrely on the gay marriage issue, my memory immediately went to, of all things, that old episode of "M*A*S*H" in which Harry Morgan plays Gen. Steele: "But first, a number!"
