An apology by Dawson to Huerta would be a sign of respect and a signal towards healing if she does so.

Dawson could have picked up the phone to call Dolores Huerta regarding differences in political opinions, but instead she chose to be used as a tool for the Bernie Sanders campaign in writing an open scathing letter.

NEW YORK – Hillary Clinton is working hard in New York to make sure she doesn't get embarrassed in her own backyard. That effort kicked off Wednesday with a packed rally in Harlem, where Bernie Sanders has been hoping to make inroads ahead of the April 19 primary.

So far, Sanders hasn’t had much success. While the Brooklyn-born Vermont senator has tapped into progressive enthusiasm in his home borough, he’s struggling to infiltrate the historic black neighborhood in Upper Manhattan that’s the heart of Clinton Country. Sanders is even having difficulty nailing down a venue for a rally.

After three big wins out west, Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders said he thinks many of the party's superdelegates who have pledged to rival Hillary Clinton will switch to his side.

"I think the momentum is with us," Sanders said on CNN's "State of the Union" with Jake Tapper on Sunday. "A lot of these superdelegates may rethink their positions with Secretary Clinton."

The latest delegate counts still put Sanders behind Clinton, however, with 1,004 pledged delegates to her 1,712.
