PufPuf23's JournalStudies reveal new 'stealth' omicron variant is 30% more transmissible. Should California be worried
Source: San Francisco Chronicle
New studies of the BA.2 sub-variant of the omicron strain of COVID known as stealth omicron show that the lineage is more transmissible than the original omicron, but may not be more severe. And so far, it doesnt seem to be provoking another surge in cases.
While experts are keeping a close eye on BA.2 as it circulates around the world it is already in all 50 U.S. states many arent worried that it will upend recent progress in winding down the pandemic.
Heres what you need to know.
What is BA.2?
BA.2 is a sub-variant of the omicron variant of COVID-19. Its known as stealth omicron not because its harder to detect on coronavirus tests, said Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, an infectious disease expert at UCSF, but because it is not always recognized as omicron.

Why is MSNBC "hosting" ads for Spicer's Trump book?
Spicer's rump book allegedly reveals the Biden and Harris plan for making the USA a socialist nation. [sarcasm]
Somewhat jarring to flip to MSNBC have a Spicer book ad followed by reportage of Trump plans to disrupt the 2020 election by seizing voting machines, saying that January 6 insurrectionists would be pardoned, and suggesting civil war should TFG not be elected in 2024.
MSNBC is not on "our" side. There is no way that ad revenue for Spicer's book is even meaningful.
I think highly of Rachel Maddow and Nicole Wallace.
The thought crosses my mind on occasion that some MSNBC guests serve to make Democrats look bad even though the guests are supposedly pro-Democratic.
Our media sucks. If one takes a sober look at what we are fed, too much propaganda and lies or misrepresentations in any case. To watch the stew every day is near crazy making over the cognitive dissonance. To flip to Fox, one only finds lies and insanity.
What can be done now in a practical sense?
