Uvalde Police Department received a grant from Abbott to purchase Level 4 Body Armor.

Just more to add on to the horror and disgust and urgency for change.

"Abbott", "I was misinformed". Bull crap. Spinning the narrative from the start.

Uvalde Police Department

August 1, 2018 ·

The Uvalde Police Department is pleased to announce that we have completed the process, and been awarded grant funds through the Office of the Governor to outfit EVERY Uvalde Police Officer with Level 4 body armor. This important piece of legislation provided funding to equip police officers with body armor rated to stop rifle rounds. In 2017, Senate Bill 12 was passed into law. The $23 million Rifle-Resistant Body Armor Grants were awarded to 453 jurisdictions around the state. Thanks goes out to those who supported Senate Bill 12 and everyone who supports those who work to keep us safe. #BlueLivesMatter 🚔

President Joe Biden spoke with top U.S. intelligence and defense officials on Friday to stress the importance of their work but also said that recent news reports about U.S. intelligence sharing with Ukraine have been counterproductive, according to two administration officials.

Biden spoke to the officials amid concern in his administration about news reports, including by NBC News, about U.S. intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

The CIA and the Office of the DNI declined to comment. The Pentagon and the National Security Council did not respond to requests for comment.

Dr. Karen Ramstrom Fired by Trio of Destructive Shasta County Supervisors

Anewscafe.com is a northern California regional online liberal news source located in red rural Shasta county California. I live two counties over in Humboldt (native) but lived in Redding at one time.

I have utmost respect for Doni Chamberlain and the other writers and liberal posters at the site, they are truly putting up the good fight against entities like the Red White and Blueprint, Bethel Church, Carlos Zapata, and the Cottonwood Militia just for starters.

Shasta county recently had a supervisor recalled followed by the county medical officer being fired. If one has the time, read the comments too.

Dr. Karen Ramstrom Fired by Trio of Destructive Shasta County Supervisors

Posted on May 3, 2022 by Doni Chamberlain

Dr. Karen Ramstrom has been removed as Shasta County’s chief medical officer. She was fired by Shasta County Supervisors’ majority trio late this afternoon.

The decision was announced at the conclusion of the Board of Supervisors meeting after a yet-another closed-session employee evaluation of Ramstrom.

Shasta County Dist. 5 Supervisor Chair Les Baugh, Dist. 4 Supervisor Patrick Jones and Dist. 2 Supervisor Tim Garman voted in lock step to dismiss Ramstrom for literally no rational reason.

Dist.3 Supervisor Mary Rickert and Dist. 1 Supervisor Joe Chimenti cast the minority, failed votes against Ramstrom’s termination.

Following the vote, Supervisor Rickert, who was visibly shaken, was overheard telling someone that she’d fought as hard as she possibly could for Ramstrom over the last months, but that today’s vote left Rickert feeling as if she’d failed Ramstrom.

'SAY HER NAME': A REMEMBRANCE OF THE MISSING AND MURDERED INDIGENOUS WOMEN IN AND AROUND THE EMERALD

‘SAY HER NAME’: A REMEMBRANCE OF THE MISSING AND MURDERED INDIGENOUS WOMEN IN AND AROUND THE EMERALD TRIANGLE

May 5th has been established as a day to bring awareness to a well-known reality of Indian Country– its daughters face higher rates of violence, rape, and murder than most Americans. The movement known as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) was founded and shaped by native women hoping to shed light on these stark realities and bring healing to their people.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs offers data that quantifies these injustices. A 2016 study by the National Institute of Justice determined four of five Native women (84.3%) have been victims of violence in their lives. 56.1% of Native women have experienced sexual violence. A Center for Disease Control and Prevention study determined that murder is the third leading cause of death for Native women.

Despite the need to focus efforts on this population, databases relied upon to catalog missing people and cold cases prove unreliable. Analysis by the National Crime Information Center in 2016 found there were 5,712 reports of missing Native women in the US Department of Justice’s federal missing person database. But, the National Missing and Unidentified Person’s System (NamUs) had only 116 of those cases logged.

long article with details of specific NA women from the north coast counties California:
