Snow was falling in the top left hand corner of Wales....

This time of year always brings to mind my childhood and all the things on TV I used to watch when I was very little. I remembered the show that the link below takes you to...

At home after school, having trudged through the snow, sitting down to hot chocolate and watching Ivor the Engine. A very British tradition. Well, for me. They put the same episodes on every year! A tiny, badly animated, friendly, not particularly exciting television programme lasting no more than 10 minutes per episode full of soft Welsh accents and snow. So I thought I would share it with you as I am feeling very warm and cuddly and nostalgic and snowy.

Merry Christmas... XXX

The only allowable political position is Right Wing Lite.

Because that's the only position that's going to win.

Is that what you think?

Ex-mods, can I ask a question of you?

did you, on DU2, spend an inordinate amount of time not deleting or removing posts that were unobjectionable but alerted on because, you suspect, for one reason or another, the alerter *disagreed* with them?

Meta Forum was a very good idea, if you like nothing else about DU3

I'm sure we can all agree on that.

RIGHT. Rolls up sleeves. Time to make a bolognese for dinner.

My ingredients:

Some butter for frying
Minced beef
Diced bacon
FRESH tomatoes, never canned
Tomato paste
Onions, diced fine and fried
Mushrooms - sliced prerferably
Beef or ham stock
Spring onions chopped fine (if I have them)
Red pepper - sliced
Chopped garlic - only pressed if I can be bothered
Basil leaves (fresh, if I have them, from my plant)
Some oregano
Black pepper - lots of

Of course, you will all think this is sacrilege. What are your ingredients?

I think we need a clear understanding of the difference between disagreement and moderation.

I think it ought to be generally understood that there's a difference between being disruptive and being controversial. I've been involved in jury stuff already - there have been posts I disagreed with that I could have voted out for removal, but then no-one would have been able to disagree with them openly. I think it's much better to disagree openly than hide things I think are wrong.

I realise that's a bit of a truism, so would a list or set of definitions of agreed "disruptive" behaviours help? Even a small one for starters? I certainly don't discount the necessity to remove disruptive posts.

Curious to hear what you all think.
