Stuart G's JournalRomney was ready to apologize to the country during the debate..He didn't get the chance..obviously.
If Obama would have attacked him the way most of us wanted, especially on the 47 percent comment, It is obvious now, Romney was ready to apologize for that comment. That apology in front of the country would have momentarily looked quite good since he had practiced it. Oh, he is sorry for what he said..many would have commented..He is "senstive"..and thoughtfull some might have concluded from that apology.....But it didn't happen.
Obama never gave him that chance..Now, Romney goes before Fox News, and it it is just another sound bite for Friday''s news.. Kinda late...so what? On that Obama won. Romney's venue for this too late apology...Fox morning news, or the late news..
or whatever, whereever... not the entire country with 60 million watching..
55 Years Ago Today, October 4, 1957..Sputnik
What looked like a terrible defeat for American science turned out to be an incredible advance in science and technology..
One could easily argue that miniturization and advancement in computers eventually lead to the PC and eventually the internet which we are using right now. The speed up of that development was a direct result of the space race and sputnik. In the areas of health and medicine great advances have been made due to those developments that started with the space race...
and...........................hats off to the old Soviet Union..for moving all of us forward, yes, I know that is not what it was about then, but it turned out ok..
.............
After a while, what looks like a win, may be a disasterous loss.
Maybe it will get known, that Romney basically lied his way through the debate. That word spreads as well among undecideds. So many times in history, things looked one way, and turned out another. Besides.
I am not for killing Big Bird, no matter what Mitt wants. Big Bird tells more truth in one show, than Mitt does in a decade..
I have seen this line..Bullies Always Win...It isn't true..NO
Did Obama Bully McCain?
I do not recall Clinton being a bully..Who has a higher respect level..right now..
......A. The guy who was impeached in1999?
......B. The guy who followed.. who should have been impeached?..you tell me
sometimes..it takes a moment or two..for people to get it...Mac Arthur tried to Bully Truman..
..............so, who is more respected today? Truman, or Mac Arthur?
and one more very strange one...I watched the Soviet Union bully the world for the first 40 years of my life
so circumstances happend..and Gorbachev decided not to use the army to keep the old Iron Curtain intact..
If Gorbachev had decided to use the army, tens of thousands would have died...so he decided not to be a bully like those who preceeded him...So...who won that??...............Regan had nothing to do with it..
.Gorbachev freed more people by not using the army...
when he could have....than perhaps anyone in the history of the world..hard to beleive isn't it? so..was he a bully?
I think what is important is how many minds were changed..
I believe Obama could have fought more..It doesn't matter what I think..I will vote for Obama..
What matters is this:
....Will this change those independents and republicans who have already decided to vote for Obama.
...........for me the answer is no.....
No amount of Romney bullshit will change what they know
//Those people already heard the 47 percent remark..
......They have thought it over, this will not change them..They know where Romney stands and he is a liar.
cut the 4 percent who have not decided in half.....2 for each side..nothing changes.
While Obama lost some opportunities, Romney seemed unhinged..Very uncomfortable..to me.
Hard to describe, over hyper, kinda too eager to interrupt. Kinda rude..Uncomfortable..
that came across..very easily..
Yes, Obama could have called him a liar, but to the undecideds, those few left, who would you prefer.
This hyper rude guy, or the guy we have..?
Not to me, but to the undecideds, not sure people who watched...those are the ones that matter..
(maybe it is not what they said, but the way that they said it..)
I got an unusual email today from a politician asking for money ..for 2014..
Yep,
Senator Jeff Merkley, Oregon, asked for 24 dollars for 2014.
This one is not over, and he want for the next one.
What does one say to this insanity?
Polls Show That Romney's 47 percent Comment is Breaking Through..:Talking Points Memo

Mitt Romneys remarks decrying about half of Americans as victims are hurting him with at least as many voters, according to a mounting body of evidence.
The latest WSJ/NBC poll read respondents his comments and found 45 percent felt more negatively towards Romney afterwards versus only 23 percent who felt more positive about him. Even worse, the 12 percent slice of voters NBC defines as up for grabs had the strongest reaction. Just 10 percent approved of the remarks versus a whopping 49 percent who said the comments diminished their opinion of Romney.
In general, 51 percent of respondents said they heard something in the last couple of weeks about Romney that made them feel less favorable towards him, versus only 28 percent who said something made them feel better about him. For the president, voters said they had heard something that improved their opinion of him by a 38-36 margin.
At least as discouraging, for Republicans, however, is that Romneys favorite Obama quote You didnt build that isnt even a net drag for the president. After hearing his comments, voters reacted positively by a 36-32 margin overall, and independents and up for grabs voters actually approved of them by slightly higher margins.

The operator of fan Web sites for pop stars Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Rihanna and Demi Lovato agreed to pay a $1 million civil penalty to settle federal charges that the sites had illegally collected personal information about thousands of children, the Federal Trade Commission said Wednesday.
Artist Arena, a company that operates fan web sites for pop stars like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, agreed to settle federal charges that the sites had violated a children's privacy protection law.
In a complaint, the Federal Trade Commission alleged that Artist Arena, the operator of the sites, had violated a childrens online privacy rule by collecting personal details like the names, e-mail addresses, street addresses and cellphone numbers of about 101,000 children aged 12 or younger without their parents permission.
The law, called the Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act, or COPPA for short, requires operators of Web sites to notify parents and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting, using or disclosing personal information about children younger than 13.
The sites are BieberFever.com, SelenaGomez.com, RihannaNow.com and DemiLovatoFanClub.net. The agency did not accuse the pop stars themselves of any wrongdoing. At a conference on chidren's marketing in New York on wednesday, Edithi Ramirez, a member of the FTC, said the settlement still needs to be ratified in court.
