dixiegrrrrl's JournalFascinating inside look at Yertle, & Health Care Bill, by former Congressional staff person.
This is in the form of a Twitter thread, which means you click on the link and it opens to top to bptom numbered Tweets on McConnel.
The author says he worked for Reid for years, so he knows Senate ins and outs.
I will post the link and those who want to read it all just have to click.
here are high lights:
* an unprecedented, full-blown rebellion by Republican senators against their leader, McConnell.
*He has taken power & influence away from other senators.
*Senators want to get things done. McConnell's pitch to his fellow Republicans was always, let's get power & THEN we'll get things done.
Their problem now is that the tactics McConnell employed to accrue power undercut their ability to get things done.
*this is a MASSIVE humiliation for McConnell. And he'll spend every waking moment plotting his redemption.

And this is perfect, with thanks to Kpete for posting earlier:
*SPOILERS WARNING* re: handmaid's Tale....big plot hole????
In Episode 7, we are reminded that June and Luke have now been apart for three years.
But in several previous episodes, there is emphasis that Handmaids are sent to the colonies if they do not conceive, and Mrs. Waterford several time reminds OfFred that time is running our for her to get pregnant.
surely 3 years is more than enough time for removal?
Or
is there something in the next episodes that explains this???
(simple yes would be ok)
Kris Kobach under investigation by Kansas Supreme Court disciplinary office
A disciplinary office operated by the Kansas Supreme Court has opened an investigation into Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach after receiving a complaint.
Keri Strahler, 47, of Topeka, said she received a letter over the weekend that says allegations she made against Kobach will be investigated and that an investigator would be in contact with her. Strahler said Monday that she has not yet heard from anyone at the court since receiving the letter Saturday.
Supreme Court spokeswoman Lisa Taylor said she could not confirm or comment on the investigation because proceedings in the Office of the Disciplinary Administrator are confidential, but she said complainants and respondents in investigations can release the information. The administrator reviews complaints of misconduct against lawyers, conducts investigations, holds public hearings when appropriate, and recommends discipline to the Supreme Court in serious matters, according to the office website.

Judge Tosses Conviction of Woman Who Laughed at Sessions Hearing
A Washington, D.C. judge on Friday tossed out the conviction of a woman who laughed during Attorney General Jeff Sessions' Senate confirmation hearing. Code Pink activist Desiree Fairooz was convicted of disorderly and disruptive conduct for her demonstration inside the Capitol during Sessions public hearing. She allegedly laughed when Sessions said clear and well-documented record of treating all Americans equally under the law, leading to her removal from the chambers. D.C. Chief Judge Robert E. Morin said her laughter would not be sufficient to make a case against her and tossed the conviction entirely.
