Obviously the fears over gay marriage are valid: Woman marries 600-year-old French bridge.

True love can take many forms. In this case, it has taken the form of an Australian artist marrying a 600-year-old French bridge.

Jodi Rose took her love for the structures to another level as she wedded the Le Pont du Diable Bridge in Céret, southern France.
The new Mrs Le Pont du Diable has spent the last decade travelling across the globe recording the vibrations in bridge cables to incorporate in her Singing Bridges music project.

Rose knew it was love at first sight when she set eyes on the ‘sensual’ 14th century bridge, as she apparently felt the earth move as she drew closer.
Naturally, it was only a matter of time before they became bridge and wife.

The happy couple got hitched on June 17 and while they might not have had the most conventional marriage, they enjoyed elements of a traditional wedding.

Would be tough to figure out what to give as a wedding present, I should think.....

Obama to lay a wreath in Tanzania with un-indicted war criminal Bush.

Press secretary Jay Carney told reporters that the two presidents will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the site of the embassy bombings in Dar es Salam, Tanzania, on Tuesday, according to pool reports.

Bush is in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, at the same time as Obama for the African First Ladies Summit hosted by the George W. Bush Institute. His wife, Laura Bush, and first lady Michelle Obama will also both appear at the summit.

Got rhubarb???? Try making rhubarb relish.

Was looking up different relishes, found mention of rhubarb relish that sounds wonderful:

"rhubarb relish" extremely hard to find commercially but when homemade, is often paired with grilled chicken, turkey and cold roast beef. This relish is made from diced rhubarb, cinnamon, chopped onions (any variety), brown sugar, cider vinegar, cloves, allspice flavoring, and good old salt and pepper.

Sounds to me like anyone who is into preserves can make a few bucks on this, since it is so hard to find in stores.
Now I wish I did have rhubarb.....

12 cups finely chopped fresh or frozen rhubarb
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cups sugar
1 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 2 hours or until mixture thickens, stirring occasionally. Pour into jars. Refrigerate or freeze in covered containers. Yield: 4 pints.

NEW:Bank of America whistle-blower details latest scheme to abuse homeowners, evade settlement rules

Has your mortage servicing been sold to Nationstar, or Ocwen, or Green Tree???

Turns out there WAS a reason BOA, Wells Fargo, Chase, etc big banks sold servicing rights to these companies.

These non-bank servicers, which process monthly payments and deal with foreclosures but do not originate loans, have an asset not available to their big bank colleagues: They haven’t yet been officially caught scamming customers.
Therefore, they are not a party to the various servicer settlements brought by state and federal regulators, and they need not submit to those settlement guidelines.
This includes rules like establishing a single point of contact for borrowers, stopping foreclosure operations when a modification is in process (ending what is known as “dual track”) and facilitating proper payment processing.

.....servicers like Green Tree, Nationstar and Ocwen have terrible reputations as among the worst servicers in the country (worse than Bank of America, if you can imagine that).
Among the charges Leonard Law Office made against Green Tree were claims that the servicer imposed illegal fees to process any kind of payment; failed to process mailed payments on time; harassed borrowers by calling them at all hours of the night and using abusive language to try to collect on debts; and delayed or denied timely modifications. These practices violate such federal laws as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protections Act, and others.

.
.....Here’s where Bank of America comes in.
According to a bank insider, this is part of a deliberate effort to flip the servicing rights for a quick buck and get out from under the scrutiny of the various settlements. “Brian Moynihan, Ron Sturzenegger and Tony Meola are well aware of the reputations of these servicers,” says the insider, referring to Bank of America’s CEO and two high-level executives. “Ron is a dealmaker, not an operations guy. He was brought in to sell the stuff.”

Sturzenegger runs Bank of America’s Legacy Asset Servicing Division, $1 trillion or so of the shakiest loans at the bank. By selling off servicing rights, suddenly the bank doesn’t have to comply with settlement practices, nor do they have to increase staff for compliance purposes. So not only do they get some ready cash, they lower their labor costs.

Diabetes drug maker Novo Nordisk and Target distance themselves from Paula Deen

"Novo Nordisk and Paula Deen have mutually agreed to suspend our patient education activities for now, while she takes time to focus her attention where it is needed,'' the company said in a statement. "Novo Nordisk would like to acknowledge Paula’s involvement in our 'Diabetes in a New Light' campaign, where she has helped make many people aware of type 2 diabetes and the lifestyle changes needed to control this serious disease."

Target announced that it is severing its relationship with Deen entirely.

"We have made a decision to phase out the Paula Deen merchandise in our stores as well as on Target.com,'' the company said in a statement. "Once the merchandise is sold out, we will not be replenishing inventory."

The latest announcements came after Wal-Mart and Home Depot announced on Wednesday that they were severing ties with her.
