1 out of every 100 Americans are in Prison.
Watch this short Youtube video discussing the plight of American Prisons.
The United States imprisons more people than any other nation on earth.
They call the U.S. Prison system... the new slave trade.

FOX News got their marching orders..... destroy Gingrich to help Romney win the nomination.
This debate is about as biased and one-sided as possible. The moderators are intent on taking down Gingrich. So far I have seen no attacking questions against Romney. This goes right line with the Rasmussen Poll today that "mysteriously" all of a sudden had Romney leading in Iowa.
The GOP propaganda machine at its best. To be honest, I wish we had a TV network, polling outfit and overall operation this slick and successful.
Obama's gallup approval number and why it's important.
Here is a list of incumbent Presidents (1980-Present) and what their public approval rating was just prior to election day.
Jimmy Carter 9/15/1980- 37%
Ronald Reagan 10/29/1984-58%
George Bush Sr. 10/14/1992-34%
Bill Clinton 10/29/1996-54%
George Bush 10/29/2004-48%
Barack Obamas approval rating today is 45%. He is just 3-5 % points away from being assured of re-election based on modern historical trends. In fact even at 45%, and against no opponent for contrast, he would "generically" be just about 50/50 for re-election! Throughout his entire Presidency thus far, Obamas approval ratings have never been consistently in the 30s, which is a sure sign of defeat.

Is there something going on in Indiana that I don't know about?
In 2008 Barack Obama won in Indiana by the smallest of margins.
Indiana is a very conservative state. George Bush carried the state by more than 20% points in 2004. It is considered a colossal achievement for any Democrat to carry the state in a Presidential election. The last Democrat to win in Indiana (prior to Obama) was Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.
It has been conventional wisdom that Indiana will not be in play in 2012. Because of very strict vender/phone calling laws, polling in the state is difficult and rare. Most pundits have gone along with the idea that Indiana will return to the GOP column next year.
So why did Obama sit down and do a "one on one" interview with a local Indianapolis TV news anchor at the White-House last week? It looked like the President was doing serious outreach campaigning in a 'very local" manner towards residents of Indiana.
This went completely unnoticed in the National media. (But not to me!) Unless the White House has numbers different from conventional wisdom, the interview made no sense. I could see doing local interviews for news stations in Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio etc. But why Indiana?
Here is the link.

Obama invited a local TV news-anchor to fly to the Whitehouse for interview!
Clearly, they know something about Indiana, that the rest of us do not.
