Santorum is speaking early. That's all you need to know.

This race is over folks. Romney went 2/2. But lets not forget, it never should have been even this close for Romney in Michigan.

Question about the early returns

Do the numbers were are seeing regarding the Michigan returns include early/absentee ballots?

If the current numbers already include the absentee ballots, then Santorum is in great shape.

However if the early numbers do not include early voting, then Romney has the edge.

I am hoping the current returns include early voting. Shouldn't those votes already be counted? If this is the case, we could be in for a great night.

Newt wrong again... Obama WAS asked about partial birth abortions.

During tonights debate, Newt Gingrich once again lashed out at the media. This time he defiantly claimed that not once had any member of the media asked President Obama about partial birth abortions during the 2008 Presidential campaign.

But of course..... THEY DID!

Here is a link from Politico.

In addition, while watching the debate, I SPECIFICALLY remembered Obama being asked this question during the 2008 Presidential debates. Of course, I found the clip on youtube in just 2 seconds.

This is would be funny if it were not so sad.

I am starting to feel like John Stewart from Comedy Central. It really isn't even fun anymore.

I am an average Joe/Jane. I work hard at my job all day in a profession that is about as far away from politics as one can get. I have no research team. No Super Pac. No campaign. Its just me. My apartment. My computer. And my TV. And with that as a back drop, it frankly amazes me how often I can just listen to Gingrich speak and can factually recall the specific incident which proves his claim to be false.

This is now my second thread in less than 24 hours proving that a central theme to a Gingrich presentation is a total lie. (see below)

I could argue that Colbert and Stewart have the easiest job in the world.

How is it that I honestly know more about many of these topics than the GOP candidates do? Do they have editors? Do they have researchers to help them with simple facts? Heck, do they have a person with a computer than could just do a quick google search before they speak?

Its truly sad... and scary.

Did anyone watch "Hardball with Chris Matthews" today?

I have a dumb question to ask that I am hoping can be answered here.

Why did the Washington Post's Melinda Henneberger have a giant ink spot on her head? Is this some type of protest that I am not aware of? Is it religous? A joke perhaps? And if it was some type of mistake, why did they let her go on without telling her she had a huge ink smudge on her forehead?

Newt wrong again... you CAN put a gun rack in the back of a Volt

Newt Gingrich while campaigning the other day claimed you couldn't put a gun rack in the back of a Volt

However it appears as though you can put a gun rack in the back of a Chevy Volt

NASCAR distances itself from Confederate flag

From ESPN:

http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/7586239/nascar-turns-bubba-watson-general-lee-car-pheonix-race

NASCAR and track officials canceled plans to have pro golfer Bubba Watson drive the "General Lee," the car from the television series "The Dukes of Hazzard," at Phoenix International Raceway next month because of concerns about a negative reaction to an image of the Confederate flag on its roof.

Watson was scheduled to drive the bright orange 1969 Dodge Charger on a parade lap before the March 4 Sprint Cup series race at Phoenix. The car has a large Confederate flag on its roof, just as it did when it appeared on the show.

"The image of the Confederate flag is not something that should play an official role in our sport as we continue to reach out to new fans and make NASCAR more inclusive," NASCAR spokesman David Higdon said in a statement Friday.

Higdon said it was a joint decision by officials with NASCAR, the racetrack, and track ownership group International Speedway Corp.

Watson, who recently drove the car to the Phoenix Open golf tournament, wrote Thursday on Twitter: "Sorry to say @nascar won't let me drive The General Lee at the @PhoenixRaceway !!! #dreamcrushed."

"Obviously, I don't stand for the Confederate flag," Watson said. "The Confederate flag was not used (in the show) for what people see it as today, so that's sad. But NASCAR was built on moonshining, so the show was built on moonshining. I thought it was fun. I didn't buy the car to get publicity; I bought it because I love it."

"Two days ago, they called my manager and said we can't do it, that NASCAR pulled the plug on it," Watson said. "They said the reason was the Confederate flag on top. I understand if I was using it in that form. But I bought because it's (number) 01, from the TV show, and who doesn't want a car that's been jumped (in a TV stunt)? The TV show was about moonshining, driving in the backwoods in those days."

Watson said he still will attend the Phoenix race, and still plans to let NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin caddy for him in the Par 3 tournament at the Masters.

New PPP Michigan GOP Poll

Santorum 37%

Romney 33%

Paul 15%

Gingrich 10%

Romney is closing fast. He has already cut 9% off of Santorum's lead based on the PPP poll done last week.

It should be noted however, that the PPP poll last week with the big spread was an outlier. The new PPP numbers released tonight are in line with other recent polls giving Santorum about 3-5 point lead in the state. The bad news is that the momentum and movement is with Romney not Santorum. Rick Santorum needs for this primary to begin now. I'm not sure he can hold out for another week.

PPP polling preview: Romney closing in Michigan

Public Policy Polling (PPP) is currently conducting new polls regarding the GOP primary in Washington state, Michigan and Arizona.

Washington State- Santorum leads by 10 through two nights of polling. This is similar to what other polling has shown in that Santurom is the favorite in the state.

Arizona- Good news here. PPP says that Romney and Santorum are basically tied in their first night of polling. Romney is thought of as a big favorite in this primary. Plus Arizona is a winner take all state, unlike Michigan which awards delegates proportionately.

Michigan- Band news here. PPP says that Santorum still leads over Romney during their first night of polling. But the race is much tighter. It looks like Romney is closing on Santurom just like he did against Gingrich in Iowa and Florida. The public may claim to hate negative adds.... but they sure do work!
