Bernie Sanders Campaign BADGERS Hillary Clinton On Climate

Bernie Sanders’ campaign wants Hillary Clinton to release her climate change plan, on the heels of news Wednesday that last year was the hottest on record.

“Sen. Sanders believes stopping the worst effects of climate change is a critical challenge for the next president,” campaign spokesman Michael Briggs said in a statement. “With only 12 days to go before the Iowa caucuses, however, it remains unclear whether Hillary Clinton will tell voters what she would do to address climate change. In July, a post on her campaign website promised a 'comprehensive energy and climate' plan 'in the coming months.' It’s now six months later. What’s taking so long? Is there a pattern here?”

The call for Clinton’s campaign to release a plan comes after the former secretary of state's campaign asked the Vermont senator last week to release the details of his health care plan. Sanders did release the pay-for details on Sunday, just hours before the two candidates went head-to-head at the Democratic debate.

The Sanders campaign blasted out its own statement earlier in the day, after the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA reported that 2015 was the hottest year on record, surpassing the previous mark set in 2014.

‘Defend This Nation’ AD Spotlights Bernie Sanders’ Foreign Policy Judgement

PRESS RELEASE

‘Defend This Nation’ Ad Spotlights Sanders’ Foreign Policy Judgement

JANUARY 20TH, 2016

BURLINGTON – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ foreign policy judgement and commitment to defeating the Islamic State terrorist organization without repeating the mistakes of the Iraq War are the focus of a new 30-second television spot which began airing Wednesday on stations in Iowa and New Hampshire.

“As president, I will defend this nation but I will do it responsibly,” Sanders begins in the ad titled “Defend This Nation.”

“I voted against the war in Iraq and that was the right vote,” Sanders continues. “We must never forget the lessons of that experience.”

Then-Rep. Sanders not only voted against the war but helped lead the opposition to the war – one of the worst foreign policy blunders in modern American history. Unfortunately, many of the concerns he raised in 2002 turned out to be true.

Sanders goes on to detail how he would defeat the so-called Islamic State as president. “ISIS must be destroyed but we should not do it alone. We need an international coalition, with Muslim boots on the ground, fighting with our support.

“It’s time to end the quagmire of perpetual warfare in the Middle East. As president, I will,” Sanders concludes.

Exclusive: Billionaire Green Activist Steyer NOT READY To Back Clinton, Open To Bernie Sanders

/

(Reuters) - Billionaire environmental activist Tom Steyer said he is not ready to endorse Hillary Clinton, and he would be open to supporting her main rival, Bernie Sanders, if he becomes the Democratic nominee for president. One of the biggest Democratic donors, Steyer could help Clinton boost her standing among environmentalist activists who are a key constituency within the Democratic Party. Clinton is locked in tight races with Sanders in Iowa and New Hampshire, which both have early nominating contests.

"Our real goal has been not to support any one candidate, but to emphasize and highlight the issue (of climate change) so that the candidates can lay out their solutions and so the American people can have a chance to make a decision," Steyer said in a telephone interview on Tuesday.

After the Democratic Party picks its presidential nominee, that will change.

"We have always come out and supported the climate champion," Steyer said. "The idea that for some reason we wouldn’t do that, I’d have to understand why in hell we didn’t. Because that has been our practice always."

Steyer has been a longtime ally of Clinton’s. He held a fundraiser for her presidential campaign at his home in San Francisco in May. He was also an early supporter of Clinton’s during her 2008 bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. There was no immediate reaction from the Clinton campaign to Steyer's comments.

Bernie Sanders Statement on HOTTEST YEAR Announcement

PRESS RELEASE

Sanders Statement on Hottest Year Announcement

JANUARY 20TH, 2016

BURLINGTON, Vt. – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders issued the following statement after the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration released new analyses today confirming that 2015 was Earth’s hottest year by the widest margin:

“The debate is over. Sixteen of the last 18 years have been the hottest ever recorded. Climate change is real and is caused by human activity. This planet and its people are in trouble. Unless we get our act together, we will see in years to come more droughts, more floods and more extreme weather disturbances.

“It is absolutely vital that we act boldly to move our energy system away from fossil fuels. That’s why I have proposed a comprehensive plan to put people before polluters and reduce carbon emissions 80 percent by 2050 by putting a tax on carbon and making aggressive investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency.”

Where’s Hillary Clinton’s CLIMATE PLAN?

PRESS RELEASE

Where’s Clinton’s Climate Plan?

JANUARY 20TH, 2016

BURLINGTON, Vt. — U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign spokesman Michael Briggs issued the following statement on Wednesday after scientists confirmed that 2015 was Earth’s hottest year on record:

“Sen. Sanders believes stopping the worst effects of climate change is a critical challenge for the next president. That’s why he’s proposed a bold and comprehensive proposal that lays out what he would do once he’s in the White House to put people before polluters. His plan cuts U.S. carbon pollution 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030 and 80 percent by 2050. He does it by putting a tax on carbon pollution, repealing fossil fuel subsidies and making massive investments in energy efficiency and clean, sustainable energy such as wind and solar power.

“With only 12 days to go before the Iowa caucuses, however, it remains unclear whether Hillary Clinton will tell voters what she would do to address climate change. In July, a post on her campaign website promised a ‘comprehensive energy and climate’ plan ‘in the coming months.’ It’s now six months later. What’s taking so long? Is there a pattern here? It took the former secretary of state four years to take a stand on the Keystone pipeline, which would carry some of the dirtiest oil on the planet across the United States.

“These are among the important questions for voters in Iowa and New Hampshire. Does Secretary Clinton oppose the Bakken crude oil pipeline that cuts through Iowa and three other states? What’s her position on the Northeast Direct pipeline in New Hampshire?

“Will she support a carbon tax? Will she continue President Obama’s moratorium on all new coal leases on public land? Will she commit to banning fossil fuels extraction on public lands? Does she oppose offshore drilling? Fracking? We just don’t know.

NEW AD Details Bernie Sanders’ Stand AGAINST Big Oil

PRESS RELEASE

New Ad Details Sanders’ Stand Against Big Oil

JANUARY 20, 2016

BURLINGTON, Vt. – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ stand against the proposed Bakken oil pipeline in Iowa is the focus of a new television ad set to begin airing on Wednesday in Iowa. Sanders is the only candidate to oppose the pipeline, which would pump dirty crude oil across Iowa.

In the 30-second ad, two Iowa farmers explain that they support Sanders because “he stands up against the pipeline.”

“Bernie Sanders didn’t hesitate to say no to the big oil companies,” George Naylor of Churdan, Iowa, says. “Bernie knows that if we don’t act we threaten the climate and the health of our children,” Patti Edwardson adds. “Bernie Sanders has the guts to just stand up for what he believes in,” Edwardson concludes.

Sanders first voiced his opposition to the pipeline, which would transport up to 570,000 barrels of crude oil daily through 18 Iowa counties, in November. Sanders noted at the time that he was “opposed to the construction of the Bakken crude oil pipeline because as a nation, our job is to break our addiction to fossil fuels, and not increase our dependence on oil, coal and other carbon pollution sources.”

Sanders was also the first candidate to oppose the Keystone XL pipeline and the Northeast Energy Direct pipeline in New Hampshire. He has pledged to accelerate the transition to clean energy as president by ending all new federal leases for fossil fuel extraction on public lands and waters.

CNN Report: Hillary Clinton Server CONTAINED Highly Classified Intel

Washington (CNN)The emails on Hillary Clinton's private server contained classified intelligence from some of the U.S. intelligence community's most secretive programs, according to a new report. The Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III sent a letter to leaders on congressional intelligence committees last week detailing the findings from a review of Clinton's emails, a spokeswoman for the inspector general confirmed to CNN. Two government agencies flagged emails on Clinton's server as containing classified information, the inspector general said, including some on "special access programs," which are above "top secret" in classification level.

The inspector general review was first reported by Fox News. Clinton's spokesman, Brian Fallon, appeared on CNN Wednesday morning to dispute the report. He argued on "New Day" that the information described as "classified" may be no more than a news article that was forwarded, although he ceded it is not entirely clear what classified material the report mentions. Fallon argued that the crux of the issue is a dispute between the State Department and the intelligence community over what should be classified. He said the emails were not classified in the eyes of the State Department when they were sent to Clinton. Fallon also implied the inspector general has an ax to grind with Clinton.

There were "several dozen" emails in question, according to Fox News, beyond the two previously reported emails containing top secret information. Clinton's campaign and the State Department have denied that any information was handled improperly, saying that the information and emails in question were all retroactively classified. State also has noted that the same information can come from multiple sources, not all of which are classified. State Department spokesman John Kirby said the department is still undergoing its review process, but any upgraded classification that is needed will be done.

Human Rights Campaign Endorsed The Candidate They Themselves ADMIT Has A WORSE Voting Record.

In 2006, the HRC graded each Senator and U.S. Rep. on their LGBT rights voting record.

Senator Clinton received an 89%.

Senator Sanders received a 100%.

To this day, Bernie STILL has a 100% rating from the HRC. They endorsed the candidate they themselves admit has a worse voting record.

Ratings from 2006 where Bernie scored higher than Hillary.

Current grade for Sanders, a remarkable and well deserved 100%.

Bill Clinton Library Set To RELEASE Donald Trump Records

President Bill Clinton's presidential library is set to make public nearly 500 pages of records pertaining to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, according to an official notice from the National Archives.

The records will detail the Clinton White House's interactions with Trump and his Trump Organization, as well as how Clinton aides prepared to field questions about Trump's entry into the 2000 presidential race, where he sought the nomination of the Reform Party for a few months before dropping out.

The files could revive questions about the friendly relationship Trump had with President Clinton and Hillary Clinton before Trump launched his presidential bid last year and began taking a withering line against the Clintons.

"The Clinton Presidential records proposed for opening consist of email concerning birthday notes sent from President Clinton to Mr. Trump. Email also includes references to his campaign for President in 1999," says the January 14 notice from the archives, which oversees the presidential records stored at the Clinton Library. "Also present is a printed database entry concerning Trump’s invitations to White House events, a photograph of President Clinton with Donald Trump at Trump Towers in New York, an autographed copy of Mr. Trump's book The Art of the Deal, and briefing materials for press events that include media questions about Mr. Trump's possible run for the presidency in 2000."

The 464 pages of records were prepared in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. Another request back in 2011 for correspondence from Trump to Clinton or his aides yielded no records, according to the requester.
