To Meta; Part 1 & 2

December 6, 2012

Thanks for the request.

Don't like the 60's? No problem.

HoF has been ginning up hate ever since it got started.

The group is just as guilty as the person who did the deed because it certainly led her to believe that that was "the thing to do". It's how the whole throng has been acting here in Meta and getting their way for it. They are emboldened by their fresh kills, so one of them felt safe in spreading their same vicious tactics from here to the Lounge... even against someone as innocuous as SCE. That says something.

Someone described it as a "sniper attack" and that's exactly what it was... seeking out something to make into a complaint where none exists, simply for the purpose of damaging a well-thought-of innocent person. Someone who dared to not be just as outraged as she was about her agenda. Where did she come up with that way of thinking? Well coincidentally, I saw it everywhere in Meta this past week.

Give me a break! You bet the group is equally responsible for this, and maybe moreso than the individual. That's like saying the group cheering on the bully beating up a kid had nothing to do with it. Who do you think you're kidding, as if we're drive ups who just got here last minute and don't remember the entire past year's deluge of shockingly nasty, lame, power playing nonsense spewed relentlessly on a daily basis.

You're right, sabrina1 and pacalo... I'll speak up too.

I'm another woman who's a less-engaged dissenter. Sabrina, your posts in this thread hit the nail on the head -- you spelled out exactly why I lurk a lot more than I used to. As it stands now, I think it's about building a power base and not much else. It's just like the religious right or a street gang... the fearful want protectors, and the protectors want the power of numbers.

So this below is a better description of exactly how I feel than I could give myself...

"I used to care, but things have changed..."

(even though Dylan is a man, so what)

A worried man with a worried mind
No one in front of me and nothing behind
There’s a woman on my lap and she’s drinking champagne
Got white skin, got assassin’s eyes
I’m looking up into the sapphire-tinted skies
I’m well dressed, waiting on the last train

Standing on the gallows with my head in a noose
Any minute now I’m expecting all hell to break loose

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

This place ain’t doing me any good
I’m in the wrong town, I should be in Hollywood
Just for a second there I thought I saw something move
Gonna take dancing lessons, do the jitterbug rag
Ain’t no shortcuts, gonna dress in drag
Only a fool in here would think he’s got anything to prove

Lot of water under the bridge, lot of other stuff too
Don’t get up gentlemen, I’m only passing through

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

I’ve been walking forty miles of bad road
If the Bible is right, the world will explode
I’ve been trying to get as far away from myself as I can
Some things are too hot to touch
The human mind can only stand so much
You can’t win with a losing hand

Feel like falling in love with the first woman I meet
Putting her in a wheelbarrow and wheeling her down the street

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

I hurt easy, I just don’t show it
You can hurt someone and not even know it
The next sixty seconds could be like an eternity
Gonna get low down, gonna fly high
All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie
I’m in love with a woman who don’t even appeal to me

Mr. Jinx and Miss Lucy, they jumped in the lake
I’m not that eager to make a mistake

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

-- or put another way, yin and yang --

"out of mind, far from view, beyond the reach of the nightmare come true..."

But, ya never know. I'll at least answer a "dissenter's roll call" when one is given.

About Waiting For Everyman

My namesake... http://youtu.be/GgXzWhexJh0 ... If I were asked to recommend only one political / history book it would be this one... http://www.amazon.com/Treason-America-Anton-Chaitkin/dp/0943235006 ... Treason in America: from Aaron Burr to Averell Harriman, by Anton Chaitkin. I do NOT endorse all of the views by Chaitkin external to this book, nor all of his actions, nor all of his associations, but I DO highly recommend this book. It is one every US citizen and everyone interested in its history should read. It it well written, meticulously sourced, and it is eye-opening -- even for those who consider themselves already knowledgeable. If you have not read it before, you need to read it, it is need-to-know information, and what it has to say is not going to be found in many places, if anywhere, else. That is my tip for whoever is passing by.
