Go Bernie!!!

Hillary is the one who has to win New York, not Bernie. But an upset for him would be nice and there are enough wild cards in this election that it could happen.

Here's to Bernie and all of us Berners, especially those in New York today, for luck...

The Times They Are A-Changin' (Bob Dylan, 1964)

Come gather ’round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’ or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who that it’s namin’
For the loser now will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway
Don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside and it is ragin’
It’ll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin’
And the first one now will later be last
For the times they are a-changin’

The Clintons created and promoted

the Crime Bill and Welfare Reform in order make the Democratic party "Republican Lite". This is what the Third Way / DLC was all about. So instead of two parties we really had one. Today we are still trying to cleanse that mess out of the Dem party and return it to FDR values which did so much to raise the quality of life before and after WW2. And of course those same ideas work any time they are put into practice.

But returning to the intersection with Black Lives Matter. Young AAs realize that it is entirely pointless to go into the streets to protest institutional racism, if they are going to continue to elect the very people who created that institutional racism.

You (general you) can't get rid of what you keep electing.

Dems of all races are starting to realize this, and that is the movement that Sanders is leading. In exactly the same way, (mostly) young AAs are beginning to realize this too. We have to quit voting the perpetrators back into office. And it isn't just the Clintons, it's their whole network of Dems who support them. (Most of the super delegates.)

So this election is very useful in SHOWING us which elected officials are part of that network and that philosophy which is so damaging to all of us... because they step forward and tell us who they are by insisting on supporting HRC. And there have been some very sad surprises in that group, but it's better to know who your enemies are than to not know.

They all need to go and they need to go now or just as soon as we can manage it. And you can't vote someone out incrementally, they are either in or out.

I know most of us know this, but some younger people might not be so clear on how we got to this place and why we feel the way we do.

Obama got it all wrong again, and not by accident I'm sure.

First of all, corruption is a fact not an opinion.

Second, the "extreme positions", or the revolution as we call it, ARE the "views of the broad public". It's the entrenched public officials, who yes are in fact sell outs, who are being dragged along by the broad public.

And third, you can't get a corrupt official out incrementally. The official is either in, or out.

Fourth, as to policies and programs, case in point is the $15 minimum wage. Increases every couple of years by pennies never did anything for anybody. But promoting $15, ACHIEVED something that will make a real difference and it's getting done in a rather short time, only a few years.

Obama is one of the sell outs. It's time he took his outgoing thumb off the scales. I'm sure he has a gigantic and super-fast payday coming for himself, and that should be enough for him. He doesn't need to foist any more corrupt pols on us on the way out.

Nixon tried to con us boomers too when we were young,

him and the Establishment of that time, the so-called "Greatest Generation", and the video below was one of our collective responses to that massive death-trap con job. This is for you Bernie-revolution millennials, just know that you are not alone this time, as we were...

Question (Moody Blues, 1970)

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war

It's where we stop and look around us
There is nothing that we need
In a world of persecution
That is burning in its greed

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
Because the truth is hard to swallow
That's what the wall of love is for

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me
It's more the way that you mean it
When you tell me what will be

And when you stop and think about it
You won't believe it's true
That all the love you've been giving
Has all been meant for you

I'm looking for someone to change my life
I'm looking for a miracle in my life
And if you could see what it's done to me
To lose the the love I knew
Could safely lead me through

Between the silence of the mountains
And the crashing of the sea
There lies a land I once lived in
And she's waiting there for me

But in the gray of the morning
My mind becomes confused
Between the dead and the sleeping
And the road that I must choose

I'm looking for someone to change my life
I'm looking for a miracle in my life
And if you could see what it's done to me
To lose the the love I knew
Could safely lead me to
The land that I once knew
To learn as we grow old
The secrets of our souls

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me
It's more the way you really mean it
When you tell me what will be

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war

It's where we stop and look around us
There is nothing that we need
In a world of persecution
That is burning in its greed

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door...

Remember what we learned the hard way -- if evil and corruption aren't stopped where it is now, it can always get worse. Under anyone but Bernie, it surely will. Clinton is toxic, a very close match for Nixon and will probably end her career the same way.

About Waiting For Everyman

My namesake... http://youtu.be/GgXzWhexJh0 ... If I were asked to recommend only one political / history book it would be this one... http://www.amazon.com/Treason-America-Anton-Chaitkin/dp/0943235006 ... Treason in America: from Aaron Burr to Averell Harriman, by Anton Chaitkin. I do NOT endorse all of the views by Chaitkin external to this book, nor all of his actions, nor all of his associations, but I DO highly recommend this book. It is one every US citizen and everyone interested in its history should read. It it well written, meticulously sourced, and it is eye-opening -- even for those who consider themselves already knowledgeable. If you have not read it before, you need to read it, it is need-to-know information, and what it has to say is not going to be found in many places, if anywhere, else. That is my tip for whoever is passing by.
