Teen Girl Saves 25 Horses From Stable Fire

More than two dozen horses are alive thanks in part to the efforts of a courageous 15-year-old who sprang into action when she saw flames in the stables.

"I started off by just putting their halters on and pulling them out by twos, but then the fire started getting quicker so I just started wrapping their ropes around their necks and just tying them around my arms and pulling them out," Madison Wallraf recalled.

The Wednesday evening fire at the M&R Overlook Farms in suburban McHenry, Ill., raged for about two hours. With no hydrants, water had to be trucked in to fight the blaze that consumed the 25,000 square-foot metal barn.

Wallraf described how she crawled through the aisle to rescue the frantic horses as flames flanked her and smoke filled the space to about three feet off the floor.

"I got kicked in the shoulder by one of the horses in there and I got knocked down a few times, but my adrenaline was so high at the time that it didn't phase me," said the 4-foot, 10-inch teen, who estimates she saved 25 horses.

Argentine 'miracle' baby found alive after death declaration and 10 hours in morgue

(CNN) -- She was a tiny thing: 1 pound 12 ounces, cold as a frozen bottle and left for dead. But she would survive.
One-week-old Luz Milagros Veron is Argentina's miracle baby. Pronounced dead after her premature birth, the baby withstood more than 10 hours in a morgue refrigerator before being found alive.
"Today is the eighth day of my daughter's resurrection," the girl's father, Fabian Veron, told CNN Wednesday.
Doctors at the Perrando Hospital in northeast Argentina can't explain it, and every, doctor, nurse and morgue worker who dealt with the baby has been suspended as an investigation gets underway, officials said.
Luz Milagros remains in stable condition but she's in intensive care, a health official said.

Good luck Luz! Still a long way to go.

Madam Secretary Meme Goes From Gay-Bar Banter to State Department Invite

Two gays walk into a bar ...

... and out they walk, less than a week later, from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's office, laughing all the way.

It's an "only in D.C." story, but for Stacy Lambe, Adam Smith and Texts From Hillary, that's how it happened.

The two communications professionals -- Lambe works on clean energy and Smith on campaign finance reform -- went for drinks a week back. It was that recent? Yes. "We were on the rooftop of Nellie's last Wednesday," Smith tells Metro Weekly.

The photo of Clinton looking tough, calm and in charge "in a military C-17 plane from Malta bound for Tripoli, Libya October 18, 2011," as the original Reuters story captions it, became the topic of discussion.

About that grand jury.......

I have no idea what the prosecutor is going to do. Word is charges will be announced at 6pm.

She did not use the grand jury and that gives her no political cover either way. That is ballsy. A lot of times, the grand jury is used to provide the prosecutors a way to deflect some blame.

It's on her either way. That's a lot of weight. She has a reputation for being tough. Let's see how tough she is on who.

Don't expect a first degree charge IMHO. If that is the only charge brought, it's a setup. A jury will be unlikely to convict on that one in Florida and if no lesser option is given, Zimmerman might skate

Tortured Dog Shown Love, Kindness in His Final Days

Jim Turner wept in mourning at the loss of a friend last Thursday. “I say all the time it’s a wonder that these dogs have any affection,” Turner said, his voice quivering. “And Wonder will be remembered. He had value. He had worth.”

The Muncie, Indiana resident and animal behavioral consultant was emotionally exhausted from having opened his heart to a battered victim recovered from a local dog fighting bust, a dog injured so badly that ultimately, it could only be relieved by mercy. He was nameless, scarred, broken. And in his final days, he experienced love and human kindness for the first time.

The discovery of 25 pit bulls in a Muncie home that police believe were used for dog-fighting had prompted Turner to reach out to this unfortunate soul, and against his better judgement, he fell for the dog. In an interview with the Star Press, Turner says the memory of the dog and the suffering it experienced kept him up at night. At 2 a.m., he writes a brief note:

“He had no name. What he did have was 100 scars on his face, head and body, along with 30 scabs and open wounds on his face,” Turner recited. “Sick and suffering, I took him out for fresh air. He walked on grass cautiously, as if it were a foreign surface. It was; as all he had known in his few years of existence were illegal dog-fighting rings and filthy cages where he bled and suffered alone.”

The Zimmerman case is so bizarre and effed up

that the only thing that makes sense is that he ran away with Casey Anthony. I suggest that people contact that toad Jose Baez.

Darwinism at work on the island of St.Maartens:

A thrill-seeking teen on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten was blown away -- literally -- when she was catapulted backward while standing on a beach next to an airport runway as a plane took off.

Tourists and locals at the half-Dutch/half-French island's Maho Beach, which is famous for its close proximity to Princess Juliana International Airport, regularly seek a cheap thrill by standing as close as possible to the runway as planes fly over the beach, taking off and landing. The beach and the 7000-foot runway are separated by a thin, two-lane highway.

Tourists with beers and cameras often hold tight to a nearby fence as the jet engines that can easily produce winds of more than 100 mph whiz by. One teenage girl was no match for the roaring engine and went airborne — her head slamming against concrete — as a JetBlue plane took off. The video shows the teen with her arms flailing and hair going wild in the wind. She quickly goes airborne and crashes, head-first, into a low wall. The girl, whose name and age is unknown, is reportedly OK after the incident, but she has a deep gash in her head. Another teen tourist reportedly broke his leg
********
You too can get blown to Hell if you visit this paradise.
There are dozens of Youtube clips showing many fools doing this. Thinning the herd one blast at a time.

Another reason to like Bubba Watson, The Masters champ:

Bubba Watson is the right Masters winner for these turbulent times. Augusta National may be a bastion of the 1%, but Watson is a down-home guy with a homemade golf swing whose dream car is the General Lee, the hot rod from The Dukes of Hazzard, which he recently bought at auction and has been tooling around in ever since.

In the moments after Watson's unlikely victory at the 76th Masters, he thanked, in order, the Georgia Bulldogs (his alma mater), Jesus Christ ("my Lord and savior&quot and the host club's African-American locker room attendants, members of the 99% that make up Watson's core constituency.

A native of the Florida panhandle town of Bagdad, ol' Bubba got himself in a pickle last summer when he played a tournament in Paris and couldn't quite summon the names of the famous monuments he had visited, alluding to "an arch" and a museum that "starts with an L."

He's not exactly a student of golf history, either. Once asked about Tiger Woods's pursuit of Jack Nicklaus's various records, Watson said, "I'm not sure how many Masters Tiger has won. Actually, I'm not sure how many Jack has, either." He did add, helpfully, "I know it's a whole mess of 'em."
<snip>

I doubt if many of the other Masters winners have thanked the clubhouse attendants right after their victory.
Every time he opens his mouth or he appears anywhere, the good ol' boys who run The Masters have to cringe. They are stuffed, pompous shirts. Talking to you Bily Payne!

Helping the Poor is Now Apparently Anti-Bible

I see that fellow Orange Countian Rick Warren — he of Saddleback megachurch and Purpose Driven Life fame — is in the news again. He was on ABC's This Week yesterday, and Jake Tapper asked him what he thought about President Obama's suggestion that God tells us to care for those less fortunate than ourselves:

Well certainly the Bible says we are to care about the poor....But there's a fundamental question on the meaning of "fairness." Does fairness mean everybody makes the same amount of money? Or does fairness mean everybody gets the opportunity to make the same amount of money? I do not believe in wealth redistribution, I believe in wealth creation.

The only way to get people out of poverty is J-O-B-S. Create jobs. To create wealth, not to subsidize wealth. When you subsidize people, you create the dependency. You — you rob them of dignity.

Jesus fed the poor and healed the poor Ricky. He didn't make them fill out job applications and ask for references.
Or did you find a new book of the Bible? The Book of Assholes maybe.
