Great article. This sentence rather leaps off the page:

Shame is worse than death for a pathological narcissist, because it exposes some flaw in him, even if it is a natural human flaw.

Shame Intolerance is superficially dealt with in The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump, in nowhere near the depth it is explored in this article.

Ever since reading Peter Strzok's book, I've wondered if there was

and still is a counterintelligence investigation into Trump that we don't know about. He strongly suggests that such investigations were opened on more Trump administration officials than we know.

Secondly, there's no good reason why one couldn't be opened (or, similarly, a counterespionage investigation) if there is sufficient grounds for doing so. His communications could legally be monitored.

The FBI could currently be monitoring individuals with whom Trump might come into contact if he does mess around with foreign adversaries, just like Carter Page (?), Mike Flynn and George Papadopoulos (?) were wrangled into investigations because of their contacts with people already being monitored.

Thirdly, in the 2018/19 timeframe, we heard a lot about sealed indictments. I'm not aware of any follow-up, so I don't know if those indictments were ever unsealed. Is it possible there are unsealed indictments already waiting for Trump?

Just this week I purchased a simple leather toggle necklace, nothing special about

it whatsoever, and it was also branded as "survival gear" and made by a guy who calls his company Survival Gear U.S.A., and on the receipt he wrote a handwritten note thanking me, and in big letters he wrote "Please Stay Safe!"

From what I could tell, all he makes are men's braided leather necklaces.

I don't understand why a braided leather toggle necklace is survival gear that somehow enhances my safety in a dangerous world?

Very strange.

I wonder if we've finally got a "satellite killer" to checkmate Russia's

alleged "satellite killers."

That is, if there really is such a thing.

Agreed.

Just watched this interview with Mary Trump. In addition to his physical woes, mental illness and cognitive decline, she points out that his fragile ego will never allow him to put himself in a position of losing ever again. She believes her uncle is experiencing humiliation, helplessness and rage unlike anything he's ever had to face before, and there's no one to rescue him, and that he'll never want to even risk experiencing these feelings again.

And look at this thread about the firing of a cybersecurity specialist in DHS

and some of the comments, trying to determine the implications of the firing:

I don't know who gives a shit either. Malaise, it's like you said yesterday:

Paraphrasing: how dare he even have had the temerity to run for a second term after killing a quarter of a million Americans.

I can't even get past that. That was one of the truest things I've read all year.

It's an insult to every American that he even ran for re-election.

Now we're getting somewhere.

After reading Michael Cohen's book, my contempt for Lewandowski rose my orders of magnitude. I don't know if he's still the raging drunk he was in 2016/17, but if he is, that doesn't bode well, since addictions like that are a risk factor for serious complications.

Well done.

Steve Schmidt said something about this. He said there are only two ways to deal with an enemy hell bent on your destruction, using WW2 as an analogy:

1. Attrition (European theater)
2. Complete dominance (Pacific theater)

I've jokingly referred to Denazification after WW2, but in truth it didn't work all that well.

Putin does seem a little agitated lately:

Rumors in September that he might resign office.
Decision to resign "due to Parkinson's Disease" the day after the election, his resignation to occur around the exact same time Biden assumes office.
Sputnik V vaccine might be a failure.
This morning: "Putin is building a bomb shelter."
