Picaro's JournalExtraordinarily powerful
This touches on the intense bond between parent and child.
I dont have to face this choice. My children are all grown up.
If I had to make this choice I would furious at being forced to make such a choice when reopening the schools is clearly not the right thing to do according to CDC guidelines.
The pandemic is now out of control in much of the US. Trump and his lackeys are trying to bullshit their way through a viral pandemic.
Weve already seen what reopening too quickly brought us. These cretinous criminals want to double down on a strategy that has already failed.
I'm speechless
I really cant wrap my head around the enormity of this. This is treason. And our system is completely powerless to do anything about it.
The Constitutions great flaw is again exposed. It assumes that each branch of government is peopled by men (back then it was only men) of good faith and honorable intent. We are powerless when every branch of government is populated by men and women without honor or fealty to the Constitution.
That the presidency is occupied by a man who cares nothing for the solemn oath he took to protect and defend the Constitution is something that was never envisioned.
Plan A appears to have failed and there is no Plan B.
Top notch ad
Its sad but true that the same criticism from a Democratic PAC might be wholly discounted.
There is unfortunately more impact when it comes from a Republican organization.
Poetry seems to capture things best
I think often of the poets that Ive read. I love TS Eliot and his work the wasteland and the hollow men.
And I love Yeats. I dont think a day goes by that I dont think of this particular poem.
These poems were written in times worse than these although I fear we are headed in a direction that will prove bloodier than even WWI and WWII.
Again this poem resonates with our times. Mere anarchy has been loosed upon our world.
All these works are about dissolution and decay.
The final line of The Hollow Men is memorable. This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper...
Democracy died in 2000. It went quietly and with little protest. Gore v Bush and it was all over. Now we are seeing what happens when a malignant narcissistic madman takes over in a country where the people have no power.
The knee will soon be on all of our necks.
Let's get him a plaque for The Resolute Desk...
Rather than The Buck Stops Here it will read The Buck Stops Anywhere But Here...
The truth hurts
